I'm mentioning all this because, if 3M can't do a good job, then you are not going to get a good job from them, regardless of escalation. Be nice to get some refund, though. -- but at least their guys would obviously know how to use a polishing machine, if the polish was provided. |

My guess is, since there is absolutely NO difference in the scratches, that they may not have used any abrasive product at all. Since I was not around during the service, my guess is that they might have used some regular polish which would have cleaned up the glass, but made no difference to the scratches. Hence hoping that escalation might result in me getting what I paid for in the first place |

Not sure who srivant is - the store manager I talked to had a different name, and said that one treatment along may not remove all scratches, and that another might need to be applied to remove all of them. At that point i figured i had wasted enough money and left. I will see if I can take a shot of my windshield and night with a headlight oncoming showing the glare from all the random scratches. in the meantime, is there any way to escalate? |

Had contemplated polishing. Looks like I would not goo to 3M after your experience. I have to ask Windshield Experts, in Adyar, what they can do. Their reviews are mixed. Thanks for his contact. Set up an appointment today and showed him the small scratches. he said he would ask his staff to repolish. I saw them applying the polish, but he got back to me saying that they seem to be almost out of the stuff, and possibly the stuff at the bottom may not be as effective, as the scratches were still on my glass despite half an hour or so of polishing. So he has asked me to wait until he sources a new pack, and would set up another appointment then. |

An update on this - I got an update from him that they are not able to procure the polishing compound, and so they offered me a refund. One of my friends was due to get his car's underbody coated, so asked him to adjust it against it as underbody coating is more expensive. At the end i was pleasantly surprised to find out that the underbody coating, as well as a wash was done, and they refused to take any payment. It's hard to find service outlets that go above and beyond their obligations to satisfy customers. Pity they don't have any more services i want, else would have loved to be a repeat customer! |
