Aux Cable for iPod Classic

We have a pioneer system in our car, and it has an aux port. The aux port is similar to a 3.5mm port that is found on all iPods and most music players. I am guessing such an aux cable will have two similar ends (both ends having a 3.5mm protrusion). How much would such a cable cost? Anyone has any prior experience of using such an aux cable before? Would the shopkeepers understand if I tell them the word "aux", or are any specifics required?

Would like your help!

Hey FOW
Goto any car audio fitting shop and ask for Aux cable. They will understand.Dont go to any electronics shop and buy this.people there would certainly understand your requirement, but you might not get a chance to test it.
I had a blaupunkt system in my car which had a AUX facility.I used to connect my Ipod to the system using that cable that is fitted to the system at its rear side.I got it from Neotone radio, next to radio werehouse.dont remember the price though.
Remember to take your car and the ipod when you go for the purchase.
If and when you get it, do update us with the price.
Happy listening.

You didn't use an aux cable? I didn't quite get you. You connected it using a cable that is already fitted to the system? Don't all aux enabled systems have a port on their main console which simply requires you to plug in an external aux wire?

Just walk into any electronics/mobile accessories store and you will get. Normally, it should cost 50 bucks or so, but for branded/gold plated end, it may cost upto 250/-. Since you have ipod classic (i assume it would be 30/60 GB), ensure to get a **3.5** mm jack..both the ends should look the same. You may also want to opt for a longish cable (1metre) length, so that rear seat passengers can easility operate the ipod.
