I will suggest ,still check with Satya once, if you are not happy then i am sure you can check out other options.

Torque is still there in the same place .

Another option is Sachin's Autoshop in Koramangala. This is behind A2B on 80 feet road next to Sai Baba Temple.

Here is route link starting from Indira Nagar Inner Ring Road:

Route Link

To explain in words, you drive on Inner ring till hit Hotel Sukh Sagar. This is after the Sony world signal. Take right here and drive till you hit the 80 feet road.
This is the same road which you comes down the signal from Forum Mall. Cross the road and you get behind A2B. Sachin's place is next to Saibaba Temple.

Went to recce Torque and Sachin's, what a difference in prices.

e.g. JBL CS 6C components for the front: Torque 4200/- Sachin's 3500/-

rear ovals 6 x 9 JBL699: Torque 3500/- Sachins 2500/-

Torque charges 450 for fitting, Sachin includes this in the price.

Moreover the Darira brothers take time to explain things and demo the few speakers set up in their shop.

Have set my sights on JBL GTO 0609 C components @ 4500/- and Infinity 9603 ovals @ 3800 for the rear or the JBL 699. Both these were available for audition and the Infinity had much better SQ. Only grouse is that they have to fit a MDF board on top of the rear tray destroying the OE look. A 6 1/2 inch 2 way Ground Zero A 61 round @ 2600/- on the rear would retain the same OE look but would lack the bass punch of an oval. OTOH it is mostly me and wifey in the front seats so would it matter much?

Any thoughts? My music is soft rock, country and a little pop of the 80's

Dont know about price differences, but when I called up India JBL showroom (the one in Forum, Koramangala), they said Sachin is an authorised JBL distributor.

Having said that, I got only speakers installed from them. They were good at it. I cant comment on installation of amps/woofers etc.

JBL is certainly a good brand; Infinity their next level. You should definitely go for components for the front. Ovals for the back is good idea if you can afford it. Else even regular Co-ax would also be good.

Ampere, It is not so much as affordability the oval JBL 699 is 2500 and the 6" roundGround Zero is 2600. It is the plank of MDF which has to be used for the oval which turns me off. I know it is a decision only I have to take, The ovals with the better bass or the rounds with OE looks.

Sorry. Somehow I had a feeling that ovals were a bit costlier. I was actually OK with regular co-ax round ones for the back

No harm in desiring a bit of bass in the music, and the ovals score over the rounds in that.

@goandude, see if your installer can mount the ovals on the tailgate (the 5th door) using 1/2" MDF sheet (and carpet / felt matching the interiors) to replace the OE doorpad.

re: Car Audio shops in Bangalore

Ive got my car's speakers installed from Sachin's auto shop. Very decent chaps and decent pricing. Only thing is their installation takes time and it gets crowded in the weekends.

I went for: Rear- Infinity ref 6532 Speakers
Front: Infinity Primus 6500Cs- Component speakers +tweeters . Good job overall and recommended.

+1. Best solution is take a weekday off. Be there at 11/11:30 when he opens up and get the job finished.

I got the same. And also got the doors damped (inner and outer linings). Very satisfied with the performance.

I have a dzire so no 5th door. He has suggested mounting ovals on top of MDF board which is on top of the original fascia minus the perforated grill. This will add about 1/2 inch to the height of the rear tray.

How is the infinity 6532 bright or laid back?

Sachin did not quote for the 6532 he gave me a quote Infinity 960 S. Any idea how these are? Could you explain inner and outer linings. AFAIK they only use damping on the metal surface of the inner side of the metal door. The one which has holes in it, where the speaker is mounted.

No idea about this one. Regarding damping, I just did not want to damp the speaker region alone but the whole of the door. It now does not feel light.
In that process I ended up paying more for damping than for the speakers !

Last but not least: Thanks to @condor for giving me lessons on damping !

re: Car Audio shops in Bangalore

The sound in my Storme was sounding sub-par, flat - with more output coming from the tweeters than the speakers. Honestly, dont know how did I put it off so long. So called Thouqeer @ Auto fusion and went back to him ( he had installed the speakers for me quite sometime back). He listened to it, and said the polarity is reversed. The output is much better after interchange of two sets of wires.

Thanks to Thouqeer (for the after-sales support) .
