Thanks for that advice Pho3nix, I am thinking on the lines of an SSD, but not right now.
I have crossed ALL boundaries in terms of spending money this month, and I bet it's difficult to pay the bills even now ;0

As for the 2 din question, ONLY the LCD screen will be placed in the 2 din slot in the dashboard. Hence I went in for a 7 inch screen, which would hence fit in the slot without much modification.
About the rest of the stuff, the CPU will be in the boot and the rest of the stuff strewn all over the car, albeit in a neat fashion.

Anyways, here's the LCD screens that have JUST come in. A BIG BIG thank you to Dinar for the fabulous, absolutely amazing looking screens. These are of a quality one doesn't expect at this price. Thank you for everything, Dinar. It was a pleasure having the screen home and opening the chunky yet high quality package from you.

Here goes.
A set of photos of the unboxing of the screen.

AND, at the end, a few shots of how ALL THE EQUIPMENT looks at the end of it all, stuffed in my sofa cum bed ;-)

Unboxing pictures of the components and other stuff.
A picture of me installing the stuff, and the absolute mess in the house while installing!

Will all this be powered from the car battery ? If yes, won't it be too much for the poor battery ?

Two mobos, two procs... are you building two grids?

And just realized - if the computer is going to be in the boot, and the Sub woofer is going to be in the boot (obviously), you are looking at a HDD failure pretty soon - especially at volumes when you feel the lows on your back while driving! Thinks again about a SSD, Frank!

I have stopped asking Frank questions a long time ago. He is Mumbai's answer to Freedabad's LBM. Mad-hatters, they both are, I say!

haha ask no questions and hear no lies.
kidding, read / saw that some where.

1> But why 2 of everything?
Home PC & Car PC
or
Car PC & car PC?

2> Go SSD, they are not too expensive anymore, abroad atleast, they are faster and more reliable.

3> iRide.in has a LB-160 PSU, any idea how it compares to an Opus or an M4-ATX?

That's not what I meant. I meant Frank sorta marches to the beat of his own drummer. Nothing he does is 'normal'.

Take for example his bed (last pic of post 124). Who you know stores his electronics in his bed. Frank actually sleeps and breathes this stuff.

Oh my, I wonder what he'll do to my teeth should I ever need his services.

You see Frank thinks of PC and ICE as animate objects. He loves them like they are. I suspect somewhere in the back of his mind he belives they will procreate and then he will soon have many many PCs and his own 'Cloud'.

Frank, from today you shall henceforth be called Frank 'Noah' Mehta.

LBM I think Frank might have you beat. He's got 2 of every component.

It reminds me of an old Shel Silversteen poem called "Stacy Brown's got two".

LBMbhai, if Frank is right and those PCs of his procreate we are all in trouble na?
