Polk vs Infinity components

Hi guys,
Wanted a definite comparison between polk db front components and the infinity reference front components.
Would appreciate reviews from anyone who has heard both, or owned one of them.
Thanks!

Speaker choice will come down to what player and amp you driving it with,

So what amp and what player do you have ?

What car is this going into ?

Will you have a sub in the setup ? and what type of music do you prefer listening to ?

How funny that you would suggest infinity to me, I would start this thread after that and you would reply to my thread. Satya spoke to you the other day. Prasana (the real earth verna), showed you my car as well.

Wanted a few opinions from guys who have extensively used/heard music from these 2 speakers before finalizing. I love the clarity from the polk, and wanted to know if the infinity is as clear. You did mention that the infinity is about 10% better than the polk.

To answer your questions:
Amp will probably be the gt5. Pio 5150 HU. No sub. Polk in the back. Verna is the car. I listen to all kinds of music - hindi, english, tamil - rock, hip hop melody etc etc, probably nothing freakishly heavy.
Since I'm on a strict budget, wanted to make a wise choice instead of regretting later.

As far as the 2 manufacturers are concerned, both of them are neck-to-neck(quality-wise). But that also varies between models.

Compare, Listen & then Buy !

@Pras- I have been using Polk Momo Components in my Octavia. My head Unit is Alpine 9857; driving the Polk is Genesis Profile 2 Amplifier. Speakers are mounted on Front Door; with good amount of damping it is able to take very low bass frequencies and provides terrific punch. Also the Sound Quality is very nice.

I'm guessing the momo are the high end ones. Thats probably out of my budget. I'm looking at the db6501

Didn't realize it's you

As long as you are using a Basic 4 channel amplifier with a pioneer head, I personally think the Infinity will sound little better, the polks tend to keep getting brighter and brighter as you go louder. In case of Infinity the brightness rise is not so exponential compared to polk.
If you decide on the polk then a basic 4 channel will probably not do the trick, but if the brightness does not hit your ears, then it wont be a problem at all.

Most important is "how much tadka do you like with your dal". We all have different tastes. So listen to both.

My mom and I found the db series brighter than the Infinity Ref 6020 when my mom was looking for speakers for her NHC. We tested the speakers with a 75.4 but sued a 755.6 in the final install.

@navin and satya - Thanks for the inputs guys.
Going by what you say, since I will be sticking to a basic 4 channel amp, then infinity is the way to go.
Now all I need is a demo from somewhere
