Hyundai Getz - Install Help

yup but sealed MDF boxes are rather heavy. the tube is a nice light box that i can move in our out. I am thinking of fabricating a tube out of fiberglass over a thin aluminum former and trying out larger woofers.

Only if I'd read this thread yesterday!!!

Shuks!! My setup was installed in the exact way Sir Gunbir said it was not supposed to be installed and in the way he said generally installers would do.

He cut the power cables, and didn't screw the Plate on the deck!!
I waited for so long to get my setup installed, couldn't i have waited for just one more day!

And come to think of it, it was done by suppossedly one of the highest selling Car Accessories guy on Minister Road. He also had on display a Skoda Octy which had the Pioneer Indash DVD player installed for 50,000/ bucks, and two sets of Kicker compos each costing 68,000/- and more stuff totalling to an install cost of around Rs. 3,00,000/- Wonder what he's done to that!

I really need your help to rectify my installation.

I got a Sony 5100 Cassette deck and Sony MP3 Cd Changer installed yesterday - in exactly the fashion it was not supposed to be!

Thankfully, I attached just my Old Aiwa home setup speakers and didn't add any others(I somehow felt uneasy the way he was installing the whole setup)
Two questions

1) How can i rectify the defects of my installation in the center console

2) What speakers can i attach to the setup for good sound clarity and good punchy bass. My budget is around Rs. 15,000/- (I will be doing away with my home speakers as I'm not happy with them.)

Please sir help me out!!

Soundmaniac,

The damage is already done i guess....

For speakers I will recommend you 6.5" Component Speakers in the front and 6.5" Coaxials at the back.

You can have a look at the Hertz Energy lineup

Fronts : ESK 165.2

Rear : ECX 165.2

They make great combination of balance and musicality. Throw in a 4 channel amp and they will really sing.

On the subjecy of Bass tubes. Why dont we get something like Bose lifestyle 28 woofer for CAR.

The one I have at home is very small but just filles up the room with enough bass. It is also intellgent enough to change the LPF/or may be power as per the listning conditions,( action movie or opera music). I never find the bass too much as in coventional system. Just enough

aargh! Bose rears it's ugly head again! :-) just kidding.

Bose believes in psychoacoustics. to cut a very long story short there are certain phenomenon they claim that can fool the ear into thinking the sound being produced is from a large speaker. sort of like MP3. They believe that if one produces only parts of the energy spectrm (frequencies) the ear will not notice the missing ones (to this i would quote Mr.Scrooge and say "Bah-Humbug").

Who am I to disagree? (I've (not) travelled the world or the seven seas) I have not made a billion $ in audio so obviously they are right?

If you are happy with bose at home you'll likely be happy with Bose in the car. That said.....

Bose (with GM and Delco) produced what may well be the frist factory fitted systems that produced listenable sounds. They were sold only on Chrysler cars. If i remember right my 1984 Le Baron came with one of these early systems.

Can I disbale the remote. Pioneer 7750 has Built in SUB control.( I think it is optional)

20 Amps load - Would my poor getz support it without a stiffning capacitor??

oh yeah! dont worry about it. that is probably a very adventurous rating.

the load is actually max 12A, fuse rating is 20A.

And no that is not a heavy load fro the Getz electrical system. I have had way more running well without a cap.
