ice bug just didn't bite me it took a chunk out of me.

sold the old stuff few weeks back.

Truly very good choice of equipment. I like the Eclipse and G5. Eclipse HU is definately gonna play its magic and the boston sub will shake the car with its low tight deep base. It's good to get hold on one of the best stuff made by boston which has been discontinued and rare to find.
What's the enclosure size that you getting it build. Boston recommends .5 cu.ft but .7cu.ft could have much smoother and lower response.

Who's distributing Boston stuff in India?

Fantastic!!!! Wonderful!!Would love to listen to this setup. I can only imagine how wonderful it must be sounding! Congrats!

It has lot of DIY involved. As I have said earlier each equipment was installed in a simple way, and the final install happened when all the stuff were in place. All the pre-requisites for the install were done as a DIY. The 36 SqFt damping was done using noise kill on the door and the boot, the Kicker 4 Gauge power kit was put in place, 16G speakers wires was used for the speakers, A custom made amp rack covered in art-leather. Nitrous helped me with the .5 CuFt subwoofer enclosure. With all this ready the install begins on one fine Sunday.

Here are some pics to tell you the story.

congrats bakiya. That is one sweet setup.

looks good. enjoy the music! Placement of speakers in doors could have better, IMHO.
Liked the amp rack and sub box holder;-)

Nice setup, clean installation. I can understand that it's difficult, but it would have been better to have the midrange installed higher up, and closer to the tweeter.

thanks, even that was in my mind to fix it near tweeter or in the A pillar but it was so hard because the midrange outer diameter was nearly 4.75".so i droped that idea.

Great Setup.
Cost idea of boston g5 sub here in india..

Bakiya, happy to see the set up completed. Looks very neat. Curious to know the material used for covering the Amp platform. Now do you have anything in the stock speaker locations (front doors and rear) ? Sorry if I missed anything in your posts.

I was offered a flat 50% on the Boston Amps, Components and even on the DLS amps and compos in October 2009 (almost same time you started your research). The reason was my neighbour getting his staff discount as being quality controller of the importer and they were ending the Boston agreement and clearing the wear-house. Somehow, after discussion with friends and cross-comparisons with some installers, I didnt take that offer, but instead went for Hertz compos, Rockford fosgate Sub and Blaupunkt amp retaining the Fiesta 2 Din unit. Mine was anyway a budget install, so I had to restrict to bare minimum.

But looking at your boot, I would have bought that 10" Boston sub any given day, considering its size and power. May be I have to wait for the next upgrade !!

The material used for covering the Amp is art leather material, there is a 6.5" dls iridium in stock speaker location and no rear speaker.

50% discount on boston amp and dls speaker dude i think you missed your golden opportunity.

A better idea would have been to make a modification in the lower part of the door for the midbass and to use the stock midbass location for the midrange. The tweeter is fine where it is.

Can you access the spare wheel without taking out the amp rack?

That's nice choice of equipment. Congrats !
