Noooo Navin, this is a Cl*** T amp, not Cl*** D. Have you heard one running full-ranges? The amp sounds excellent and is very clean. I'm not a big Blau fan, but this item is insane value for money. The only reason I would call this a sub amp (if i would) is cos this amp delivers much more power into a bridged load than it does in stereo. So if you're using it as 80x2, you're not getting the full output potential, i.e. 260Wrms in bridged mode.

Thanks B&T. Thought it was Cl*** D.

No I have not heard this amp but looking at the specs i figured it can dump a lot of current in bridge and hence perfect for subs. he he he.

anyway I am getting 2 of these. I should have got all of them but did not want to monopolise the whole stock.

I have an Alpine 340 (40X4 at 12V) running my front / rear speakers so i figured a 12" sub mated to the PA275 will provide adequate b***.

I think I will use the second amp to power the front speakers replacing the 4 ch. Blaupunkt Velocity 504 (bridged) I use in my wife's car.

Q: for my wife's car (Opel Sail hatchback) i have a Blau GTA 450 (2 ch. bridged for the subs and 2 ch. for the rear) and the Velocity 504 (bridged for the front). You think the PA275 is sweeter than the 450. Or should I really replace the GTA450 and leave the 504 velocity for the front and rear and the 275 for the subs?

Speakers: Front Infinity 5510 (modified XO), Rear Blau velocity 4" comps circa 2003, subs 4 x Vifa 17cm woofers free air on a fibergl*** (FRP) deck.

between the Blau Velocity 504, GTA450 and PA275 which 2 would you choose and where.

1. Blau 450 / 504 for rear and subs (2 ch bridged) and 275 for front
2. Blau 504 / 450 for front and rear and 275 for subs

Navinji

I think once you have the amps in your hands, and you hear them, you will like them on your subs. Though the extra power in the front stage will be addictive...

What will I do for the 6x9? Power them from the HU?

Nice job Gunbir. You really confused me now! :-)

1. Blaupunkt Velocity 504 50W/ch 12V
2. Blaupunkt 450 50W/ch 14.4V not speced @ 12V
all amps are 4 ch amps.

Sail uses Blaupunkt Velocity 504 bridged for front and the GTA 450 (2 ch. bridged) for subs and rear.

Add 1 PA 275
I dont want to use more than 2 amps.

option 1: Use existing setup

option 2: replace GTA 450 with PA 275
then use the 275 for the front and the Velocity for the subs and rear
or
use the 275 for the subs and the Velocity for the front and rear

option 3: replace Velocity 504 with PA275
then use PA 275 for the front and 450 for subs and rear

I did not like the sound of the 450 in the front. Too grainy. The Velocity 504 is sweeter.

But will the HU power be enough for the 6x9s. I do not think so.

Guru's.... Pardon the "DUH" question .... But if the HU like the Pio's says its 50x4 .. then what role is a 40 x 4 amp playing?? ... or have we to go looking for something that is rated higher than 50... or are the HU amplification figures all C**P?

I have an Alpine 340 (40X4 at 12V) running my front / rear speakers so i figured a 12" sub mated to the PA275 will provide adequate b***.

It puts out anything between 250 to 270W rms, should suffice for a sub. Only, it wont drive 2 ohms or lesser in bridged mode.

I think I will use the second amp to power the front speakers replacing the 4 ch. Blaupunkt Velocity 504 (bridged) I use in my wife's car.

Umm, I quite like the sound on the Velocity VR504. I think it's an excellent amp, the only deterrent being the price tag. 19990 is serious money!

Q: for my wife's car (Opel Sail hatchback) i have a Blau GTA 450 (2 ch. bridged for the subs and 2 ch. for the rear) and the Velocity 504 (bridged for the front). I am not a fan of the GTA450. I think it's an ordinary amp at best, and also not powerful enough to drive a sub with adequate headroom.

Option 2, VR/VD504 running the fronts, and the 275 for the subs. You could use the 275 for the speakers also, not that it aint clean enough, but when you have a 504 doing the job, why bother?

P.S. Your wife must love you. I hope my girlfriend doesnt see the post and get inspired by your wrongdoings

If I use the 504 for the front and the 275 for the subs what do I do for the rear? unless I use the 504 in 4 ch. mode for front and rear but then my front soundstage goes to pot.

my wife thinks I am bananas and complains every time i take her car away to modify it. so there.

with women you cant win so dont even try.

Thanks B&T.

450 in bridged mode for the rear..lol.

Boy, I wonder how you've wired the whole setup, although I am sure I can reliably trust you to have got it right.

Just my checklist:

To run the front speakers in bridged mode, you're running 2 pairs of RCAs: 2 left channels from the HU to amp input channels 1 & 2, and 2 right channels to channels 3 & 4 cos I dont think the amp accepts 2-ch input for output from all 4-channels. Then you must have just the left front speaker on Ch 1&2's bridged output, and just the right on 3&4. Hence you have a Y adapter either at the HU or at the amp.

You'll have to do the same thing for the 450 to get them powering your rears in bridged mode.

Sub shouldnt be a hassle, cos it's a 2-ch amp. So the sub out goes straight into the 275.

Finally you need all the amps reasonably close to each other so that you can ground the amps at a common point and not face ground loops.

Way to go, man. Your wife oughta be proud of ya!

And when your wife get's a new car, let's put together a system with monoblock valve amps powering every single channel in that rocket That would be fun! Or am I pushing it too far
