I already have the connector. Want to help one of my friend who has Sony HU+Alto car. I want the colour codes - connetion deatils.
The local installer has removed all tags from the HU connector and stripped the wires in the car. Also has connected the rear speaker to right cahnnel and front speaker to left.

1. What is the HU model number? Which car are you trying to put it in? (PS: OK, Alto, missed it earlier)
2. Can you post a pic of the connector (adapter)? Rear side, where the wires emerge, close-up using macro if possible
3. What do you mean by "stripped the wires in the car"? Can you post a pic of the current state of the car harness?

Installer had cut the wires for power, standby (twisted together) and ground in the car,s wiring harness. I have repaired them.

Dear Gurus,

Please to guide. My Swift VDi just got pio 5050 + Blau GTA4MKII + JBL 608c + JBL CS1205 (in an el cheapo sealed enclosure) with Audiovine (supposedly decent with warranty) cables - no whine nothing.

BUT while the bass shakes up the RVMs, it booms - almost resonates. However, I've seen a Getz with a 12" Bull ultra tight crisp bass (http://www.bull-audio.de/downloads/p...sche_daten.pdf )

Don't see why mine with smaller (el cheapo yes) box should be vague.
Mine's spec wise better: India JBL

Can you advise what's to be done? I will check dimensions of the enclosure later today back home.

Also, the tweeters are a bit too bright - any idea how I can solve that?

I can't find glasswool around Gurgaon but I can find polyfill from the pillow shops- how much to use http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...tml#post409308 says around .85-1.7 lb to be used - but how do I staple it together. https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound...ml#post1356604 Or just put between some sheets like discussed here?

Also should the woofer cone be facing upwards, sideways?

Cheers

Current settings below:(very decent now compared to original setup by installer - all of it thanks to Arpan's guidance with trouble indirectly on ramie paaji!)

HU Settings
Equalizer - Flat
Loudness - On - Mid
Subwoofer 1 - Reverse phase
Subwoofer 2 - 80 Hz, (- 3)
High Pass Filter - OFF
Bass Boost - On (1)
Source Level Adjustment - 4

Amp settings
Front:
Bass Boost - 6 dB
X-over - HPF
Gain level - about 60%

Rear (bridged to run sub):
Bass Boost - 0 dB
X-over - Flat
Gain level - about 50%

HU settings: Try turning loudness off. Its mainly meant for low volume listening and even there, often isnt needed with good speakers. Also, try switch off the bass boost. Both of these are settings one should use based on personal preference. If you are finding the bass boomy on your existing setup, these might be the culprits. The loudness should help with the tweeter brightness as well (it basically boosts highs and lows)

Amp: The bass boost for the fronts with HPF on seems contradictory. The HPF is preventing the amp from sending low freqs and the bass boost is increasing them. HPF is usually set for components to protect them at high volumes.

Cant help you much on the enclosure design side of things.

Remove the bass boost from the amp for the fronts.
HPF them from the HU to 80Hz since you are LPFing the Sub to 80hz for the sub so the mid bass would only start playing from the frequencies where the sub stops.

Jaibir/Abhinav: Thanks will do and report back in morning!!

Also realized an additional problem:

The box is a PERFECT fit as per JBL standards:
India JBL asks for 28L
I have 13"X13"X11" ie 1.08 cu ft. Eliminating 0.08 cuft for the space occupied by the cone - I have ~1 .00x cuft or 28L for sub, as required by JBL.

But I need to cut down the boominess while make things sharper - what do the guys think about polyfill?

It worked. The bass is crisper (but can still be better) - the interiors boom less and the I am now used to the vibrating RVMs!

question. always thought about this - will sticking a pair of wheel weights (used for wheel balancing) onto the IRVM reduce vibration. It is effectively dampening it right ?

Gurus,
Need help. I am having the following setup.
- JVC AVX 44
- Front Focal Access components
- Rear DLS 6X9 speakers
- The front/rear powered by JBL 75.4 amp.

The last few days, the focal near the driver side is acting strange.
The volume goes low, comes back to normal, gives distortion kind of
sound and sometimes just stops giving any sound. This does not happen
always. Sometimes it plays very normal. I thought it could be because
of the media played and tested with USB, CD, FM inputs but the right
focal speaker near the driver keeps giving the problem.

I gave the car to my accessories guy and he thought there was a problem
with the wiring and changed the speaker wire and the RCA cords. We tested
for a few minutes and everything looked fine but the problem started showing
again the next day.

I am not sure where the problem is. It could be with the speaker or with the
AMP or with the HU itself.

Anyone has come across this problem before and any suggestions on how to
isolate the problem area?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has been driving me nuts for the
last few days.

Thank you.

need advice for a good setup for my accent viva
i have a kenwood cd player and a spare pioneer 7950 and a premier series 240watt(maybe) amp.
iam currently using the oem speakers.
i want to put a pop out screen but dunno if it would be practical due to the ac vents and the hazard light /defogger switches just above the single din unit.
my budget is around 25k please suggest a good setup for that budget and a good place for the installation in delhi. also if the above mentioned components can be utilised in any manner.
cheers.

I am not sure where the problem is.
Once it starts playing does it continue to play well or does it still go on and off?

1. check the XO of the components
2. change amp and try alternate amp.
3. check that speaker wires are not shorting

It plays well for a few minutes then it shows the problem for a few seconds and then it plays well back again as if there were no problems at all. This morning, I was playing only that speaker that showed the problem for nearly half hour and not once it showed the problem.
