You are missing plenty. Doesn't it strike you that Hyderabad is not shortened to Hydra? Hydra-shok is not Ashok from Hyderabad, it is Anup from Kochi (KocAnup or KochAnup might be more appropriate).

Guys, let us stick to ICE here - making a monica out of Anup's moniker should be done elsewhere.

guys!

i am having a problem with my setup
Car: Santro xing xo
HU: pio 3790 (has only rear pre-amp out)
Front: Polk db401 [connected to HU]
Rear: Polk db690 [Conected to amp rear channel]
Amp: JBL GTO 504

The HU is a carry over from my initial setup, rest all has been changed recently.

I have been getting some phat-phat sound from the front speakers whenever there is a bass beat.

When the fader is adjested only to Front, there is no such sound till about 45 volume[distortion comes in after that]

When fader is balanced, this sound comes at volume 20.

Taken it to the installer and he wanted to tell me that everything is normal, and tried to fix it by adjesting the fader. But could not fix it.

Finally he said, he will put another set of db401 in the front and show me that it is not speaker problem but a HU problem.

Can anybody tell me what is happening ??

yup, could be an HU problem. another possiblity is that if there being a short in the wiring somewhere , but i think the installer is right.

Pio DEH 5950 IP in the M800 Dashboard (in the AC controls )

Hi Team,
Thank you welcoming in the TBHP family. Though new to the car business, i am getting more passionate about maintaining my car. I have Maruti 800. I need help and advise on installing the Pioneer head unit(5950) in the dashboard which is used for the AC controls. The vehicle is STD model, noplans of having a AC fitted. So want help to get thehead unit installed. Will that work out,. Some people were of the opinion that head unit will protrude out and will not look good. Need advise ??

I have a pioneer TS 20 tweeters for the front ( earlier had jbl 4" round speakers)...Rear speakers are again jbl GT0937 (ovals) and have jbl 2 chaneel amp powering them (JBL GT402A amplifier i belive ??)

Welcome to the forum, Pras!

Yes. The HU will protrude outside. There is very little space behind the AC control / Radio area. These days, HUs have grown up a bit and it will be a bit of a hard fit there and will look ugly.

You can purchase a middle console especially designed to fit HUs. It will be much convenient and neat. Even though, you'll have to take your eyes off from the road to fiddle with any sound controls.
