Max USB capacity that HU can handle

What is the maximum capacity USB drive that the HU can handle?
Specifically Pioneer 3090UB and Sony 470?

Manuals of both the above HUs do not mention anything about maximum USB size (in terms of memory) handling capacity.

I dont think there is a limitation to the actual size. some folks have even got portable HDD's working. . there are limitations to the number of files/subfolders you can place in a folder , and the current supply capablities of the USB port are limited , but not specified.so some brands of portable HDD's work fine , others do not - only way is to try each one .

Is it advisable to buy ICE components from the US?

I am interested in buying the BLAUPUNKT HAMBURG MP57.

In one of the posts the price list of the entire range was mention in which the above was priced at Rs.15,950/-

And in the same post a website (Midwest Electronics - Blaupunkt Sales and Service) mentioned in which the price of the same is roughly in INR is Rs.9,500/-

My friend is coming this december from the US.So do reply ASAP!!!

Hi, can anyone suggest a good ICE set up for palio mjd. I would like to use the stock positions as much as possible. Cost is not a restraint and if the budget is high then I would go with the ICE set up in stages.

I generally listen to Indi-pop and soft music, while my friends(with whom I travel the most) are into heavy metal and Hard rock. So i am looking for a set up which would be able to do justice for both.

I would start with a HU, amp, 4 speakers. a good 4 ch amp helps a lot and does not take up too much space. If you are willing to sacrifice boot space you can add a sub. A custom FG sub enclosure will cost more but will occupy less space.

It is certainly a good idea to shop for Blau units from Midwest, delivered in the US. You obviously dont have warranty on those goods when you bring them here, but can avail the excellent Blau A*S*S in Mumbai - for a cost though.

Hamburg is a good unit but has a higher spec now available that has Bluetooth streaming & phonebook option as part of the standard unit. You could consider picking that up at Midwest prices as well.

Happy Hunting.

Am assuming you are doing to drive the sub & comps off an amp, and not off the HU.

Yes, the Hamburg is equipped for the same.
