Its all a matter of your ears doing the deciding !
Are there any shops in Chennai where I can hear a demo of these cones?

LBM, my darling, I have a strong feeling that the reference to 'people here' is actually, you and me.

Et tu Sam, kb etc etc? When I talk about drivers, I am not usually referring to my unnatural sexual drives, my friends! Sam, if you may have noticed when we met last night, I prefer the company of the fairer sex. (I just lost my phone's data cable, that was a jolly good pic of you next to the JBL speaker)

Anyway, LBM please check out my pic that I am attaching. It is only fair that you know what your prospective mate looks like. One of the 2 gentlemen is me. Maybe you'll have a tough time figuring out which one, but the hint is..'I'm the better looking one'. Awaiting your approval.

Sorry to ask but is that picture to prove that you are or not B&T?
Is this a CROSSOVER to the DARK SIDE?

@Sam:

Boss, what would be the price for two pairs of JBL's GTO series and CS series speakers?
Could you briefly compare one with the other?

Thanks

Both GTO and CS series are a full basket, I do not know which model or size hence, cannot give you the price.

GTO is a full technology driven series and CS is the value for money series. often, like formula one engines, older GTO technology is often used in CS - simply because they sound terrific still.
Even though GTO is by default superior, certain CS products can sometimes be more popular than GTO, simply because they deliver more bang for the buck.

I am looking at having them fitted to my Indica. Would you know what model and size for both series?
What would you recommend.

Thanks again

Indica doors can take 5.25" size spk but with little modification u can also fit in 6 1/2".
See the thread called 'largest size speaker for indica' started by panky. If you dont want to modify use 5.25" speakers.

Which model---well that depends on ur budget.

FM tuning USA-> India?

Hi Guys,
Didnt want to start a new thread so here goes...

Read on many threads that HU's meant for USA don't catch or have difficulty catching the FM stations in India.
How does one determine from the specs whether ones USA made HU will work in India (as far as FM tuning goes)?

Background
From my earlier thread I mentioned that I had opted for a Clarion DXZ555MP HU from the US..Well the update is that it has been 'procured' and at a good price ($108) but will take another few weeks to reach me (when my friend arrives).

Now I'm a bit worried if it will tune into the FM radio channels we have here.
Please no lecture on why we should buy from India only etc .

Mr.Quake,u should have done ur home work properly if ur not willing for good lecture!!!!!!

Anyway u can download its manual and see it urself whether its compatible to European radio tuner settings,which r same as Indian settings in the radio section of manual.

And dont expect HU worth $100 to have tuner settings for both US and EU.Only high priced HU have this feature,infact alpine 2006 HU range dont even have it.

So i suppose this was just a advice and not a lecture!!??

OT--I never thought quake6 has been 'released'....
