connecting mp3 player to Sony 5510 HU

guys i got a line in cable fitted for my HU ( Sony 5510 ) but i dont see how it will play out songs from my mp3 player.
The cable is connected to BUS AUDIO IN - is it the correct way ?? My installer is totally illiterate on this.

I hope the line in cable you got fitted has RCA at only one end (the end attached toyour HU). The other end should have a EP or 2.5mm headphone MALE connector which would go into the headphone socket of your MP3 player.

If your MP3 player has a similar (EP style) "line out" socket use that. Line out bypasses the volume controls on the MP3 player. These volume controls only degrade the sound.

Tip: Change Installer. If your installer does not know this he does not deserve your business.

yes the cable has RCA at one end - and it is connected at back of the HU.

I would not know your HU's config. I guess your current installer wont know either. What is the model number of the HU again. Maybe someone else here has an idea.

I'm back from Delhi

Hello Guys, good to be back in Mumbai, Delhi is just too bloody hot.

Had a great time, met a lot of TBHP folks, will be posting pictures. Meanwhile here are the pictures of a GREAT sounding install I saw in Delhi. It's a Skoda.

IN a funky night light

The capacitors etc. The nice thing about it was that no holes were made in the car!!

A big bank of amplifiers

Flashy car

Good cabling

And the sound? It sounded really nice. Not some pretentious setup. It attacked my gut and sounded fantastic to my ears. Sam khush hua.
Enjoy!
