perfect? wow! that is a big word.

For 20K I'd recommend spending 7.5-8K on the HU, 7-8K on the speakers and 5K on an amp.

HU: Alpine, Blaupunkt, Sony or (without bill and warranty) a Pioneer plently to choose from at 7.5-8K
Amp: Sony 504 (grainy but at 5K it is all you got)
Speakers: 6" Coax cost about 3.5K per pair, 6" components run about 5K per pair. 8.5K will get you components in the front and coax in the rear.
--------------
8+5+8.5=20.5K
You still need 2K or so for the RCA wire and install.
-------------------------------------------------
Total 22.5K

alternately get the JBL 60.2 for 6K instead of the Sony 504 and use the HU to power the rear coax.
--------------------
22.5K (above) - 5K (sony 504) + 6K (JBL 60.2) = 23.5K

If 23K is really over your budget then drop the components in the front for coax and save 1.5K.

this seems to be a very silly question to ask but
can any one tell me why dont people use i pods, walkmans with ear phones and head phones instead of such costly car audio.

i agree if there are more than 1 ppl in car this wont work. lol
also ur body and bones will not be vibrating with base

1)is it unsafe to use headphones n earphones while driving ???
2)is car audio more safe
3) why dont we have head phone out in HU.
--PS
i just got sony nwe 107 network walkman(like i pod) and i cant resist my earphones while i drive dads zen or my activa.

beacuse driving with headphones on is outright dangerous. I would not advise it even at low volumes. but when chauffered I use my ipod with a nice pair of headphones. for more on nice headpones visit headphone.com or head-fi.com.

amit, we drive by using almost our senses. vision, hearing, feel, and yes even smell (but not taste).

If you block out what is a very important sense you can get into an accident. In fact I am an advocate that there should be no moving things in a car no dangling stufff nead the rear view mirror, no jack in the box sitting on the dashboard. No distractions. Lord knows there are enough external inputs to keep all your senses busy.

I used to have a friend who was proud that he could wear his tie, drink coffee and shave while he was driving to work till he ran his car into a gas station. He left behind a wife and 2 kids. That was 15 yers ago. Traffic is a lot worse today.

car audio boom box and others also block ur hearing senses, so they should be equally dangerous as headphones n ear phones.

absolutely that is why i have been advocating using sensible levels in the car. Given the current crop of car audio speakers (sensitivity about 87-90db/1W) I dont understand the need for more than 30-40W rms / ch in the car.
