Nah only a rear deck. your exisiting fiber deck wont be able to support a 12" woofer comfortably. you'd need to replace it with one made from wood. MDF is a cheap form of wood.

You get these readymade trays, made of MDF, that will support your woofer. I think they cost about 700 rupees.

TELL ME WHY

a HU 50pmpo*4 , ***no amp***, 300pmpo 60RMS pioneer at rear, pioneer 110Wpmpo in front door.
The HU provides all the 4 speakers( 2 rear , 2 front) with same power
all speakers have 4ohm inpedance
HOW come the rear speakers sound loud

u will say they are more powerfull 300pmpo
well i'll say speakers is a passive eliment , and HU provides all speakers with same power,
Then how come rear is louder??????

:-) May god rain upon you, A6000GTI if you ans this question :-)

This happens as most ppl have bigger coaxials in the rear and small 4 inchers in the front. The fronts produce less bass, as they have a small cone and music stage becomes rearish. However this is purely due to having different size/spec speakers in front and rear. Put the same speaker size and spec in front and rear and they both will sound equally lound!

And probably sensitivity feature of spk also influence loudness as more sensitive one will be louder for given power as compared to other one with less sensivity.

There is just too much diffrence b/w the front and the rear coax.
not just bass the mid freq power is also more in rear coax.

ITS definately the sensitivity factor of the speaker as this guy says.

rsjaurr- may god rain that a6000gti upon u r car

dont expect bass out of the 6x9 in the front. sure you can run speakers without an amp. an amp just offers better control and more SPL. also you will need a spacer and maybe some metal cutting to shoe horn the 6x9 in the front door.

Amit sensitivity factor will only become significant when rear and front have different sensitivty. But in cases where front and rear r same or of in same range[e.g. infinty reference 5010 compo in front and 5012 coaxil in rear],then other factors as mentioned by navin and other r major factor.

Now i will have infinty kappa 60.7 compo in front and infinty kappa 62.7 in rear[sensitivity of both is same--95db@2.83v,1m].Here sensitivity factor will not come into picture,i suppose.Front spk may seem loud to me as i will be sitting on fornt seat.

sensitivity is measured in an assumed box volume. as you make the box smaller the sensitivity esp in the bass reduces. so the same speaker will sound less sensitive in a smaller box.

if you drive then this is compensated by the fact that though the front speakers are usually producing fewer db per watt they are closer to you.

i dont drive so i use a Senheisser 565 with my ipod. adequate for my in car back seat needs. I intend to upgrade to a good headpone amp soon one maybe build one into the rear arm rest or something like that when time permits.
