I was thinking one could use a bicycle tyre pump to blow out the dust. The air from the pump will perhaps not do any damage to the voice coil alignment.

Dare you even touch the system and i'll make sure your car will look exactly like the vehicle of the guy with JL Audio subs.

Do what ever you want to, take off front passenger seat, rear seat bench, don't eat till the drag.

The best you can do with your ice is take out your parcel tray and sub box Period !!!!

Navin, Sam,
I got my system installed in my Swift from Elegant.

it includes:
HU: Sony7710 Rs.9700/= (without Bill & warranty)
Amp: Sony 504: Rs4500/= (with warranty)
Front: 606ce Rs.5750/ = (with Warranty)
Rear: CS265 6" 2-way Co-axials Rs.2500(with warranty)
and a Cheap looking Boss wiring Kit, Rs.1800/= (i think he charged too much for those wires)
Anyways, I would like to fiddle with the Gain settings, but don't know how? Please throw some light w.r.t to Sony 504.

Both Front & Rear channels are powered by the Amp.
One more blunder the fitter did is, that he's connected the Rear channel speakers on front channel of HU or Amp i suppose, because when i switch on the LPF settings on my Amp, the Front Speakers(rather Tweeters) stop sounding at all(almost).

Remedy Please can i DImyself? HOw?

Sound System advice for Tata Indigo GLS

Hi Sam (and anyone else who would like to comment),

I wanted some advice on purchasing a sound system for my Tata Indigo GLS. I had 2 suggestions, one from my local car accessories guy (Khosla Motors near Milan Subway in Mumbai) and one from a friend.

First setup: (Khosla Motors)
HU : Sony CDX F5510X
Speakers : Sony XRF5100

OR

HU: Sony CDX 52210S
Speakers: Sony XSF693G

Second Setup (from friend)
HU : Blaupunkt Bermuda MP35
Speakers: Blaupunkt ODx 693E OR Blaupunkt THx 693

I have gone through this thread and it appears that Blaupunkt is a better choice, so I will go for it. Now for the questions I had.

a) Which speakers to go for from the Blaupunkt or Sony range? If none of the above, what setup would you recommend?

b) Also I presume that the speakers I have mentioned above are only are for the rear. What speakers (if required) should I put in the front?

BTW my budget is around total 16K Rupees. I may stretch it by 1 or 2K if you suggest an alternative and it costs that much
more.

C) Do you know where I could find the service center(s) for Blaupunkt in Mumbai? I live in Santacruz (West).

I am looking for a 'good' sound system that's it.

Thanks in advance for any comments or advice you may have.

Yup, you overpaid for the BOSS kit. Can you hear any hiss / whistles / whines. The Sony 7710 is a nice HU, sounds nice. You should have got this with warranty as there are some issues with disc reads after some time. Also, from your desciption it sounds like a typical 'Elegant' install. Your cabling seems to have been done wrong.

Milind
Hi Milind, Blau would be better but a bit costly I guess. Go for all Blau unit if you can. I am not sure what an Indigo would take at the front. If it can take 5 incher or 6incher try to get a Component speaker. Blau has some I guess or you can try JBL, Hertz or other but most of us wont recommend a sony SPEAKER here.

or, Stay with Sony HU, and get Blau speakers all around

or, Sony HU and JBL,Hertz Speakers all around.

And if you can afford, try to get compos at the front and 6x9 or so for the rear.If you cant get components just go ahead and get full range 2 way speakers for the front pods.

HU 7-8k + Front compos 5-6k + Rear 6x9 OR 6 inch 2 way 2-3k =17 max

OR

HU 7-8k + Front 5/6inch 2way 2-3k + Rear 6x9 OR 6 inch 2 way 2-3k = 14 max

I think Blau radio is far better than Sony's. Let's see what others say.

Blau HU - 8K. For 9K you get one that is ipod compatible (you need to spend 6K on the cable though).

Blau ODX or JBL GTO front coax - 3K. There are others but no better VFM in this price band.

Blau ODx or JBL GTO rear 6x9 - 4K.

Install labour - 1K.
--------------------
8 + 3 + 4 + 1 = 16K. enjoy.
