good price. crutchfiled will sell you this for $600 (with the 690A).

what are your front speakers?

why have 6x9 and a sub in the rear?

try this....

replace T220 with F240 or add sony 502 to T220 (which ever is cheaper)

add alpine components in the front (depends what fits; maybe the SPS 171) and replace 6x9 with 6.5" coax like the SPS 170.

use 2 channels to drive components and 2 channels to drive sub and HU amp to drive rear. make sure your HU allows you to use rear RCA and speaker out simultanouesly.

9855 should run 20K+, Sam and Mclaren are the experts at prices and models.

Alpines are expensive. That is why we consider Sony or Pio when on a budget. In fact Sam considered the Pio P1Y for this demo car even when he did not have a budget so it does also depends on your personal preferences.

Mate an Alpine HU and amp to Infinity Spealers and you will be presented with a very lush sound. For my listening tastes this is nice. Not nirvana but nice. I've spent 30 years chasing audio nirvana and not found it (at home or in the car). There have been some magical moments though - that is what we fanatics live for - those fleeting glimpses of the holy grail.

JK das, in his post, 2325 came very close to a nice system for 24K. making a few additions (front components and 502 sony amp) and one substitution (6" coax for 6x9 in the rear) and you might have al all alpine system for around 30K.

for what rason avi? 6x9 in the rear are really useful only if you dont have a sub and need the thump they provide. the T220 i think is th 2 channel version of the F240 though i am not sure.

yes navinji,
i was contemplating on fitting a sub, but the current set of speakers at the rear do not offer me any life (ford 5X7 - driven by the HU F7710S) so if i put in a sub, it will completely spoil the life in the sound from the rears (please confirm). if i fit the infinity 6X9 at the rears, do i need to drive them with the amp or can i do that directly from the HU. the radio warehouse guy told me that this combination - infinity and alpine amp is prolly best!
please advice,
ak

yes navin the 220 is the 2 ch version of the 240 and it doesnt make sence to buy it just to drive ur 6x9's..

use the sony for the 6x9 then you add a sub you can use the sony as a sub amp. the 504 will give you twice the power for 50% more cost than the 502.

i didn't exactly get it!!! do i drive the 6X9s with the HU
and if i add a sub then drive the sub with an amp or with the HU itself ( the amp i was talking about previously was the alpine T220)
what exactly is the 504 and the 502 are they speakers or amps. i'm not that knowledgeable on these

well AK the 504(at 3.5k) and 502(at 2k) are the entry level amps from sony..the 504 is 4 ch and the 502 is 2 ch..so what navin said is spend a little more on 504 and ul have a 4 ch amp wherein 2 ch can drive ur 6'' or 6x9's for the moment and when u buy the sub u can use another 2 ch to run it..rather than wasting money on buying the 220 which is just a 2 ch amp and is best suited to run a sub..
