3. mate, u drive the car? if so, components at the front. ther are loads of them around ( jbl, hertz, blau etc). Compos play very well and neat taht you prsent front speakers .

to round up.

get a 4 channel amp.
get compos at the front ( i am not sure what a ford ikon front doors can take.. 5inch or 6 inch ? )

about rear speakers.. can you give the right series of soundstream you have? ( i cant comment abt the brand as i haventheard abt them; wait till our audio gurus wake up)

otherwise get some 6x9 speakrs for rear.

if you can, add a sub. ( this is anotehr story)

and mate, your budget please
Thanks jkdas ,my max. budget is around <rs15kand >rs25k.
Yes i do drive sometimes as i am still in the 12th and dont get much time. Recently I heard my cousins car it was awsome.
He has a getz with a pioneer 7650 h\u 2 soundstream spekers same as mine 2 infinity components and 2 tweeters in front plus a pioneer 12" woofer enclosed ina box in the trunk. Also he has a pioneer 944 amp & a sony 250W amp.It really sounds nice. What do you think?

Soundstream is a pretty decent brand. Lets obviously work from there. Keep those. (Of course). Lost the stock speakers in the front, Immediately.
Let me tell you that even a 2 lac rupee system in the car will not sound good at FULL volume. It is indeed a bad habit and honestly, dont increase it with your eyes, increase the volume with your ears. Turn it up, till it stops sounding right to you, then turn it down a wee bit. Never mind what the volume CAN go up to, that is not how you're supposed to listen to it.
The ford Ikon can take 5.25" components in the front. Put those in. Get an amplifier. If you buy a 4 channel amp, you will find that you are able to turn it up with lower distortion and a higher sound level.

If low bass is your thing, add a subwoofer. You could either add a "free air/IB" subwoofer, which is basically an open speaker that is mounted the way you have mounted your speakers,
Or a boxed/tubed subwoofer. In an Ikon I find the tube gives better results.

Baaki, let us know what happens next..
God Bless Australia
Hi Sam,
I wanted to know if I can have 2 woofers at the back with speakers. Ive seen this configuration in a rio's ikon.
If yes how and what kind of subwof should i put i dont have any knowledge about this things.and my bugdet is from15k to 25k at the max.Should every thing belong to the same brand or isit ok to combine diff. brands and use them? And make sure i mean the configuration has to do magic .Please give your sugg.

do this.
buy the following.
Infinity 4012i in the front (assuming it fits)
Infinity 5012i in the rear (assuming it fits)
JBL 1200T strapped to the car seat (the larger seat)
Sony 504 amp (or if budget permits the JBL 50.4 or Alpine 240 or Pio 6100) bolted to the back of the smaller car seat

now use Amp to power front and subs. Use HU to power the rear.

Sam or Mclaren or Aseem will be able to give you prices. so you know your budget.

Why did I recommend the 5012i over the 5010cs.? becuase you are powering it with your HU.

I wont recommend the JBL CS 50.4 to power the tube. Nor do I recommend the Sony 504, unless budget is really really tight.

Pioneer 6100F is for 7k available in the market. JBL 506CE retail at 5k with bill and warranty after 10% discount. I am not aware of the Infinity prices, I am sure McLaren can chip in!

There you go Paharino!
4K for the 4012i for the front
4.5K for the 5012i for the rear
6.5K for the 1200T sub
7K for the 6100F to power the sub and front
total = 22K. is this too rich. if so we can find cheaper alternates.

some choices

a) replace infinity with JBL 426 and 536 - that would save you about 3-3.5k

b) use sony 504 instead of 6100 - that would save you 2-2.5k

c) repalce 1200T with Pio 306C sub in box - that would save you 2-2.5K

thanks all for the suggestions..Navin..I was just typing in the possible combos when I saw ur message..
.I have put together these 5 possible combos, based on your inputs..I guess these are in the ascending order of Sound Quality & Prices.
When I am satisfied with the " mera waala" sound quality & boom - i'll opt for either of these...
Combo 1 : Infinity 4012i in the front, GTO 526E in the rear, all powered by the Sony 504, no tube
Combo 2 : Infinity 4012i in the front, Infinity 5012i in the rear, all powered by the Sony 504, no tube
Combo 3 : Infinity 4012i in the front, GTO 506 CE - 5.25" Compos, all powered by Sony 504, no tube
Combo 4 : Infinity 4012i in the front, GTO 526E in the rear, JBL 1200T Tube, with 4012i & the Tube powered by Sony 504 & the 526E powered by the HU.
Combo 5 : Infinity 4012i in the front, Infinity 5012i in the rear, JBL 1200T Tube, with 4012i & the Tube powered by Sony 504 & the 5012i powered by the HU.
Let me see, depending on the mood & patience of the Installer, I may try out Pio 7100 amp as well..

To power a subwoofer I would consider my budget and make a decision. I would not go for a 2 channel amp to power the subwoofer, rather choose a Class D mono amp.
In 7k budget you could consider Sony SD series mono amp. I have heard good things about it, its 250 watts RMS. Pioneer 7100F looses out to the Sony as its not Class D, its difficult to get, and is more bulky than the Sony though in the same price range.

If you have a higher budget than Pioneer makes a Class D 400 Watts RMS amp for 10k, if you want I can get you the part number if thats in your budget. I dont remember the model number at the top my head.

JBL also makes a mono amp for 12k+ range, so you might wanna ask Sam!
