CS200.1 is not sold in Asia/Europe.

The GTO301.1/ 601.1/ 1200.1/2200.1 are the monoblocks we sell in India.

This CCTB thing got me thinking. Yesterday was a holiday and while doing groceries I remembered this thing called MAPD. Some of you may have heard about this.

Now since I dont joke around with speaker theory I am posting a link here.
http://www.northcreekmusic.com/MAPD1.htm

I think this can offer a small box with decent LF response. By decent I mean non peaky.

This will be of use to DIYers like Vivek.

I read the article. Interesting stuff. This could be good thing to try out if the Vas is low and I get a woofer with low Xmax.

Hi Guys,
Now that my setup for the Swift is up and running. I want to focus on my next problem.... my 11 month old Esteem. To be honest after owning the Swift, I hardly drive my Esteem. It drives like a desi car.... My parents are on my ass to ship the Esteem to my brother and get his Getz in return from Chandigarh, as my mom doesnt drive the Esteem (Mental block of a big car!). So since I am mostly driving the Swift, Esteem is just lieing at home unused. Another reason why I am not driving the Esteem is that I am in love with the music of my Swift. Its a stress buster... However the system in my Esteem is quite shady.. (local). So I am willing to invest 5-10k on my Esteem's existing system so that at least I can drive both cars and not waste the money I spent buying Esteem.

Here is the existing configuration:
1) Sony Explod 3300! ---- bought for 6k---- now sucks, cant read all MP3's :(
2) Front Kenwood Local---800Rs 4" Speakers----Suck big time (soundstage is rear)
3) Rear Ovals Pioneer 2 way---2.5k----Quite ok for the price
4) Subwoofer---Pioneer 305 for 3k at that time (now 2.2k) mounted on a wooden (non-mdf) tray (lacks steam now) bass is very muddy and non defined.
5) 2 channel local Alpine amplifier.... It SUCKS!

See before listening to my Swift, I was quite happy with my system. However off late I had noticed that the system has run out of steam. It sounds like an Asthama patient, being overworked..... So I have decided to upgrade it and looking for possible ideas!

1) I am considering what speakers to go up front??? JBL 5" co-axials??? will they fit? How? possible cutting the car?(will have difficulty convincing fokls) .... I also have JBL 636 already purchased which I can use if I know how to fit.... would this be possible?
Anyways, budget would be 3k!

2) Sony 504, 4 channel amp, I will use this to drive the front and rear speakers.
3.5k

3) Now what should I do for the sub? When I state that the bass is muddy and non defined, does that mean my sub has gone bad.... or is it because of the tray its mounted on is not made correctly. I love the kick I get from my sealed enclosure in the Swift made from MDF, however after reading JB's post, it seems that I would need a lot more power from the amp to get a sealed setup to work from the trunk of the car. I can also consider a ported box.... will that help? Or do u suggest a new tray made from MDF for the same sub and speakers..... Should I consider upgrading the sub by selling it? I plan to use the existing Alpine amp for the sub!

4) Should I consider changing the HU, the current hu sucks. I dont even know if it has 3 pre-outs? Its not reading MP3s... however I am not sure if how much will I get for it if I sell it... is 2.5k reasonable trade in cost? Should I consider Sony 5510 for 5.5k?

So total budget:
HU: 3k
Sub Tray/Box: 1k
Sony 504: 3.5k
Front Ovals: 3k
============
10.5 + labor+ wires
=============

Pretty close to what I can afford.... Guys/Pros/Freinds/Foes please chip in your suggestions keeping my existing setup and budget in mind

the prices you post aseem are quite optimistic. I cant see those prices in mumbai.

BTW the front speakers are round not ovals (typo?). I dont think you gonna get more than a 4" in the esteem dash.

One option is to consider a 3 way using a door mounted 6" woofer and a 4" 2way in the dash. You can think out of the box here. hint: if you had a pair of 606 instead of the 636 it would have be easier.

you seem to be quite adept of solving your own problems so I think you can take it from here! :-)

Aseem,
Even I often want to ask you, baba, where do you get these nice, low prices from? Is New Delhi so much more cheaper than Mumbai?
