OK I have query guys about how to setup rear speakers in small cars viz, Santro, Alto etc

1) Put a MDF/wood trey & mount speakers there OR
2) make Boxes & put the speakers sideways in way that the speakers are afcing each other.

Somehow I believe taht the 1st one will give better sound but a friend of mine says its otherwise, so can you tell.

The objective here is not abt space etc but that, which setup will give better sound ??

MDF trays will occupy less space and give you more boom. Boxes will occupy more space and give you better defined bass.

If the MDT tray is not done right it can rattle and you will may get a buzz along with the boom.

If you want BOOM. I prefer definition even if that means not being able to play too loud.

If you are asking me what JBL amp for that woofer: the model number is GTO 600.1.

There is also a 301.1 which will suffice but the 600.1 is a better option. There is also a 1200.1 but thats pretty expensive.

600.1 is about 20k i think...

Cheers

Well, as Navin has taken care of most of that... i will just add

Speakers facing each other in the back is a bad idea.

Yeah Moodswings your guess is right...My family is from Distt. Faridkot of Punjab about 40Kms from Muktsar. Now my family is in Delhi since last 30 years. Though we have most of our relatives in that part of Punjab.

Seems like you have guessed it from my sir name

actually what i would do is build a box that is trapezoidal and not rectangular. so that the speakers are angled up at about 45 deg. this will cut down on standing waves inside the box as well.

in fact as far as you can never build a box with parallel surfaces.

Second hand though.
Was thinking of a Cass player with a CD changer, Vipers Pioneer 12" woofer and amp and speakers.
Say around 7K for speakers.
I like the Yellow cone speakers for looks.

me trying to link santro setups together so that it would be easier for other 2 .
