Help required in planning a upgrade

Hi Folks

recently my Pioneer HU 6850 CD jammed and ever since the CD removal mechanism seems to be intermittently failing. So I decided to replace it with something new.. I was thinking of going for Blaupunkt, but my local vendor who had done the setup the first time said that Blaupunkt was out of business and hence I should go for Pioneer or Sony.. So finally settled on the Sony MEX BT3600U. I found the following drawbacks in it :
- Radio receiver not as good as Pioneers
- Bass not as powerful as Pioneer
- Very little audio control features compared to Pioneer
What are your thoughts on this ?

Anyways I am also planning to upgrade my Amplifier setup. My current setup reads as follows:
JBL GTO 75.4 amp
JBL GTO 607c - 70W rms - 2 Ohms
JBL PS552 coax - 55W rms - 4 Ohm
JBL CS 1204B Sub rated at 250W rms - 4 Ohms

Current the rear speakers(JBL PS552 coax ) are powered by the HU. I need to power these also by the Amp. For this I was planning to make the following changes:
Change the JBL PS552 coax to JBL P562 (as this is a 2 Ohm speaker)
Change the JBL GTO 75.4 amp to JBL GTO 5355 amp to support the rear speakers as well..

What do you think.. is this change advisable ??

* Blaupunkt out of business? No, not at all. Maybe your vendor had other reasons to push Pio or Sony, like higher margin for him?

* By "finally settled" do you mean you have already bought it? If not, you should definitely consider other brands - Blaupunkt (as you wanted), Pio, Kenwood, Clarion, Alpine, even Panasonic. Any model that has 3 Pre-outs. If your vendor is reluctant, there are plenty of others

* Is there something really disturbing you with your rear speakers? If not, assuming that you drive yourself, there would not be much gain in changing the rear coaxes

* Is the amp that you have mentioned available in India? 5-ch amps do not sell in India so much, hence availability is always in question. If you really want to amp the rear coaxes, you could think of a mono to drive the sub

Damn... I already bought it yesterday.. Now need to ask him if he will change to Pio.. i had initially setteled for the Blaupunkt or Pioneer 5190. But when he said that Blau is gone kaput and Pioneer does not have BT whereas Sony has BT.. i was sold.. but now regret buying the Sony.. Is the Pio 5190 better than the Sony MEX BT3600U ?

Actually you are right.. i drive so coming to think of it, it might not help at all.. actually yesterday at the installation the rear speakers could hardly be heard.. so i guess I will first try tuning the amp and see if it makes any diff.

This suggestion makes more sense than my plan and it will be cheaper... too, so first i will tune the amp to see if the situation improves.. else will go on for a separate mono amp to power the sub.

Hey thanks a lot for the suggestions.
