@kspv: When you say installer, do you just want these guys to install ICE you already have or do you intent to buy some stuff as well, cos like rightly mentioned SPROCKET in ameerpet area is good and CHEQUERED FLAG in ministers road.. i've seen the stuff both of them have. i would suggest chequered flag over sprocket as this guy has all good stuff and with bill & warranty. he's got a whole range of kickers and neat stuff. So if its only to install i am not sure if all them do only installs. Let me know if you need their contact numbers etc.

Dude just as some of us TBhpians had really really bad Experience with SKODA DEALERS, We here at Hyderabad too have really really BAD Reviews and Ratings for SPROKET!!!

Be it Ice purchase or installs i suggest you go to Checkered Flag, the guy there Mr.Gautham, really cares for his customers regardless of you buy or not, SPROCKET GUY is TRUE Money Minded Scoundrel and CARES a HOOT Unless you make a Really Really Big PURCHASE like sony 504 amp with bill and warranty for 8000 bucks and such!!!

Just go to Checkered Flag and ask for Gautham, the owner, talk to him, mention T-Bhp, and see the response and Do the same with the sproket guy, then decide if you want a install from him or sproket.

FYI- the so called Ace installer Hamid who is good alone with wiring and just cannot tune a setup has LEFT SPROKET, Reliance Digital, now and now intends to open his own shop. So no good installers in Sprocket either its a thing of the past. The only Installer with some common sense and ICE spirit i know of is the Checkered Flag in the City.

I even Checked out the Famous Xenex thats hyped around, at least i dint find the guy very informative nor do i think they can carry out a good install for our kind of T-bhp standards.

Thank you <absynthguzzler>, <Puzz>, and <rider60> for your able guidance.

I needed to replace an existing Sony CDX-R-3300 which was malfunctioning. I decided in favour of a Nakamichi CD-400, and procured one from its authorized distributor. I wanted to be extra careful with its installation, and hence my query!

I will try Checkered Flag this weekend.

Once again, thank you very much!

@kspv: How was your experience with Chequered Flag?

Are there any other installers who do a good job in Hyderabad?

News about Hamid. I reckon i am the first guy who experienced Hamid about 3 years ago and recommended him to all you folks

Btw, does he still have a mobile number with last 3 digits as 661? If yes, i will get in touch with him directly as i need to install a new component in my car.

Any idea how much he will charge just for comp installation?

Thanks guys for all the info on the thread, ever since Johns Sound Service in Basheerbagh closed down, I did not know where to go.

I have been meaning to have the ICE in my GTX totally re-vamped. It has a Sony HU, a Kenwood amp (of sorts) and JBL speakers and it is dead/dying. Do you think Hamid would mind looking at it and rectifying it (I think the whole thing needs to be re-wired and then each comp checked and replaced if necessary).

Anyone in touch with Hamid please find out when he is free after Idd and send me his contact details.

Does anyone here suggest a CD changer - I hear they are quite inexpensive. I might have to replace some of the equipment therefore I welcome suggestions for a HU (with Aux in and USB in), amp and perhaps also speakers. I prefer resolution and clarity and am not a 'BOOM' guy so am not looking at a sub in a box (I'd much rather have an ice-box in my dickie). Of course I intend to work on a tight budget (5 to 10 K if only one component is to be replaced but might stretch to 15/20 K) if more things are required to be replaced.

Cheers and thanks again.

I called Hamid's mobile and he is out in Blore for the festival and someone who picked the phone said he will be back after that. I couldnt wait so got my new comps installed today.

If you like a neat crystal sound. Then invest only in the following

Rear Co-axials
Front components
Amp
HU, present one i hope is good enough. If yes, then you can get yourself a SPL system under 18K

Just for members info,

I did my ICE from pavan electronics who is distributor of JBL/Infinity and got decent discount.

I felt he is good enough for my stuff as he has to fix only speakers, no AMP/SUB.

BTW, He also distributor for Auto Foam but some how I didn't like them much and felt gsport is much better.
