Placement of speakers by OEMs ...

A set of questions to the Gurus :

Is there any particular reason why OEMs (of mass market average affordability cars) locate speakers in conventional locations like front doors / behind rear seats (in sedans) ?

I guess I'm obliquely asking why OEMs don't locate speakers in the A / B / C pillars ? Or better still, why don't they locate speakers recessed into the roof lining or as part of the roof lining (much like air conditioning vents are built into the roof lining of some UVs) ?

For most manufacturers, ICE/Audio is almost always an afterthought. Not many manufacturers design their cars around the ICE that they come with. yes, im saying most, since companies like lexus and audi actually pay attention to the ICE part too, but the scene in India is different. Most cars are internationally contrived with a lot of R&D, yet show signs of poor stock placement of tweeters. cars sporting small 'chhotu' panels for speakers in the dash itself are examples of how ICE is an after thought.
not many cars come with well located stock positions for speakers. somehow increases the importance of time alignment even more for me.
