Hi Friends
Recently acquired i10 was to serve local purpose (Very less highway drive), so needed a budget ICE. Already had Sony 4 ch-Amp which will be replace by Blaupunkt GT4MKII from NHC when this will be replaced by a good 2ch Amp in NHC.

Got my i10 Magna ICEd today -
HU - Kenwood KDC5539 (USB & Aux-in) - 5k (grey)
Front - Focal Polyglass 165V1 - 12.5k (with B&W)
Rear - Blaupunkt THs 6" Co-axial - 1.5k (grey)
Amp - Sony 4 ch (sourced from old car)
Wiring - Monster - 900/-
Installation - 400/-


The rear co-axials are surprise. Very good SQ with decent bass punch. Exploring the Kenwood HU right know, will share more experience about HU.
Will add ID CTX sub whenever can procure from US.

I have heard 1 Focal and i can bet my life they were fake lol. Focal KP2 selling for 8K lol:

Congrats SB! Hows the HU? Can we have some pic's of that.

It's too early to compare both since spent very little time with these focals. On the other hand they are powered by Sony amp + no Sub in the car.
But as far as initial impression go, it seems they have good midbass kick, tweeters are not at all sharp, bit laid back.
Yes, the fake and original confusion was too in my mind. But since the local dealer is very good friend of mine, trusted him. He said to me he will replace the speakers within a year, if anybody proved them to be fake.
I really don't know whether they are fake or original but the fact is they must satisfy my ears well. Will try adding the sub for a while next week.

Thanks Sanyam ! HU is really great. Lot of options to play with. Since it's a 2 pre-out HU, it has a 2Zone feature, which helps to individually manage volumes of rear and front. One can select what is connected to rear - Speakers or a Sub and accordingly more settings to enhance/control the output is available.
There's also a Auto dimmer function out there. What's for that and how does it work?

congratulations. you are one of the few who might have got the actual original Focals. I believe the brand has lost a lot of sales due to the pre conceived notion that they are being sold fakes.

There's a correction, i got the bill for my ICE today. And the Focals were for 10k instead of 12.5k . :)

Btw auto dimmer will trigger the dimmer settings whenver you will turn on the front headlights. So its like an auto setting that will turn on the dimmer in the night and turn it off in the day.
