One of the best head unit. Great choice must say.

I suppose one can always attach a changer to it which would play DVD/MP3/Video CD with help of the CeNet.

This truly makes the headunit worth it. All it needs is a screen to enjoy those movies with High fidelity sound.

Clarion India | VCZ625

How would one compare this with Eclipse Mk7200II?

thank you for mentioning me sir, but it doesn't feel like too much of an effort after hearing how happy you got on the phone when you first got your hands on it.
cheers!!
G.o.d bless you and enjoy the music (and remember me every time you listen to music on the HX-D2, ok? )!

PS: Can you list all your equipment, and also take some photos of the rest? IF possible, that is!

EDIT: Just looked at the head unit again! Feel like doing things to it :-P
franky without your effort things wouldnt have been so quick.thankin you again for all your help right from ordering to the delivery of the hu at my place.

Kidding bro, hope you're having fun.
kya ajay bhai, even the OEM head units of maruti esteem looks better and has more 'FUNCTIONAL BUTTONS' in them.dont be surprised if you find the same in TATA NANO as their OEM HU'S.

no,because it came 96k as default so no point switching.
yes even i have increased the gain.i think its because of the cleaner sound and signals.

With the dyns to accompany, it should be heaven on earth. Ain't it?

To make some good use out of this thread, I recommend you to post a detailed review of the HU. Practicality, features, package contents, fitting experience etc.. and finally.. the sound!
Also do a comparison report with the 9887 which is considered as one of the good mainstream HUs available now. It will make us all understand the real world differences between a mainstream HU and a high end, audiophile, plain SQ oriented HU.
thank you speedzak for those big words.the hx-d2 is a star performer.no nonsense, plain looks, built like a tank with some serious absolutely clean sound producing capabilities.
yes,the dyns never sounded so open and detailed but now its pure heaven.
will be puttin up a detailed report very soon.

mura, from what i have read on international forums, people have said the the hx-d2 is one of the few head units that puts out a strong 8V true signal, just as mentioned in its specs. its bolstered by the dc-dc converter that comes with it, that helps in maintaining a clean and consistent signal. i'd say your head unit had something wrong in it. any reason why you replaced it? what do you have now?? just asking, cos all of us here want to know what is better than the mighty hx-d2.

I know it is supposed to have a true 8V pre outs but mine did not. Atleast not into real world impedances.

The amp was a Genesis Dual Mono driving a pair of DLS Nobelium 6.2's.

I replaced the same with a Nakamichi CD700Mk2.

My main dislikes were the lack of gain, the complex interface and too many tuning options with which you can endlessly tweak to get "perfect" sound.

I prefer the simpicity of the CD700. You switch it on - you listen to music.

No messing around with time alingment or Parametric EQ......

IMHO sound is very personal thing, so what works for you might not work for me as i might have very different requirements/priorities.

I no longer have any ICE in my car, only the OE setup. Now i only listen to my IHE.

I don't think i can fit my prefered 300B tube amps and Horn loaded speakers in my car.
