It is difficult to explain in words my journey from iD to iDMax and now Profi. I will try.

The 2 iD subs were very loud. At that time it was all I wanted. All hell would break loose in my car when I turned up the volume. Then the sound of the iD subs changed drasitaclly when I changed the Pioneer monos to the Image Dynamics Q1200.1 mono. That setup used to flex body panels, the roof and windshield. I heard the IDMax in a friend's car and it sounded like a very grown up iD sub. I got one for myself and output wise, It was not as loud as the two iD subs but there was much more detail in the low end. It was also smoother and sounded cleaner. I must mention that the iDMAx was in a sealed box temporarily but when I heard the ported version, I realised the sealed was more to my taste. It went ultra low and hip hop was so much more fun. I heard and felt bass notes I never noticed before on any subs. When I got the Profi, I had never heard it before. So it was a shot in the dark. When it was initially installed, it was very tight. The kick was the best I had ever heard, but it was all kick and no low end. Gunbir and JB asked me to run in the sub (and the Profi comps) for a couple of weeks before I came to a conclusion. This was due to the double spider design of both the Profi mids and the sub.

The iDMax was a new chapter in bass. But now that it's broken in, the Profi is a whole different book about bass. It does the top end, the lows and the midbass with so much control and authority I have never heard anything like it before. Every bass pluck is delivered with realism, every beat is felt in the chest. It gets loud when required and disappears just as quickly. Now I know what a sound quality sub really means.

Frankly, I never expected this kind of performance from the Profi comps or sub. I think this was the final upgrade as far as the sub and comps are concerned. Only thing on my mind is what would two Profi 12" would do?

Excellent review, sam_786!

I'd actually not seen the earlier posts about the change in the comps. I'm sure that the comps being matched to the sub make them blend in together all the more.

More power to you, man! Good to see you are (almost) at the end of the journey (for now). Two Profi 12"s? Ahem!

Thanks bro but the review which you gave about your LaaL Pari was outstanding.
The compo's are 5k cheaper than the Dyn's Earlier i had a plan for Dynaudio Esotec Series 2 way component the same in the Zucchero's car but when i heard it i does not found it according to my taste as i like more of mids. So i decided to go for the Profi's but i am very happy that at last my shot in the dark was exactly in the center
The sub is for 45k and the compo's is for 55k.

Off topic: About the meet i am not coming as had to go to friends marriage have already told Manan that i will not be able to join you guyz.

Regards.

sam if you like 'MORE MIDS' then you will never like the dyns bcoz with the dyns there is nothing 'MORE OR LESS'.they are just ACCURATE.those silly midbasses will sound only the way the recording engineer wanted it to and they only speak when they are supposed to.crazy stuff!!!
congrats again bro.that profi 12" is fantastic.really wished i had mullah to buy them.

You need to hear his setup again. When you heard it last, it was umm... far from sounding right. If its sounding a 10 now, it was at about 4 then

@ Sam, your setup has quickly become one of my favorites. I look forward to every tuning session. I think by now you realize these sessions are an excuse to spend some more hours listening to your setup.

Nice review.

Sam, this only proves that you do know how to post nice long reviews using proper english grammar or have you been studying Sam's thread here. :-)
