Well it's "a" solution. But no, I haven't found a nice solution. So basically with all the major albums that weren't working, I downloaded them again. That was my solution.

Tried a couple of other repair tools but nothing concrete.

The one thing I noticed was that if you remove the ID3 and ID2 tags of the mp3 files (the part that stores the album/song/artist/etc. information) and then re-tag it, that seemed to solve the problem. But re-tagging hundreds of song is not a very appealing proposition.

So that means there isnt a proper solution to it! I should have asked somebody over here about the player.how stupid of me! Nyways thanks for replying man.will try the re-editing tagging stuff

I don't think retailers know about this problem. But yes, had you read my thread before buying, you could have averted this mistake.

Very shocking and interesting thread. I thought Pio itself had issues with sorting, but this is weirder.

Is this the same with 4050? That was to be my shortlisted model!

I should assume so. swaroop_babu has this problem with his 3050, and I have it with the 6050, so it's almost certain that the 4050 would have these problems.

Yeah i guess this is a common problem with the new Pio`s.
But it has happened with just 2-3 songs in my list of 50-60 songs so its not a big deal for me.

ouch so that means guys with a 5-8k budget for HU have only blau for option, or the stock Alpine taken out from NHCs?

PS: sorry for going OT! Thanks a ton for your thread.

No.. Given these budgets, you can safely opt for Pio 6950/7950. FAAAR better than the new Pio XX50 series! better display, better features, better sound.

Someone on budget can actually go in for JVC, good VFM!

BTW, i just read your post where you'd asked about your ICE. given your budget, why dont you give a try to Pio 6950/7950 + front comps from JBL (in grey)? You wont be disappointed.

.. and to the thread starter, take a back up of the songs, format your pen drive, repaste and get going. If, by any chance, you're using win vista.. opt for "scan and fix" before formatting!

I have a 4050. Can anybody please provide me a link to the faulty / nonplaying MP3s? I have a collection of close to 4 Gigs of songs, mostly rpped on one of my Linux Boxen. Some were even originally .ogg (OggVorbis, and converted to MP3s only for sake of playing on the HU. I do not have any problems so far; but I can check.

Up load the file to some site, PM me the link, and delete the file after I download it - sharing copyrighted material is illegal.
