Just curious , are there any sub 10 k,(sub 8k ish if possible) compos with a laid back sound ? (preferably textile dome tweeters)
Textile dome really isnt an issue, but most budget metal tweeters(at least the ones I've heard, both car and home audio) tend to make their music sound crisp, while I'd rather have it smooth.

I've heard that that the hertz sound quite nice. any idea about their prices / model numbers

No idea, am guessing that they should cost as much as the 6.5" components...you can PM Gunbir/ Autophile for more details.

1. Maybe the 9881/9883
2. Blau THc, GTO JBL 607c, Hertz Deici, Illusion Electra
3. The Blau THx 693 is good

Interesting observation;

Good you got it up.
Just wanted to know, if it could be the HU or the Amplifier that makes Metal Domes a 'bit crisper'

IMHO & in a few listening sessions / audition, I have observed that it also has a lt to do with the genre of music player.
Generally, Trance + Hip Hop + Rock [Heavy] play 'better' through Metal Domes & Vocal + Indian / Western Classical + Jazz etc. seem to sound a bit more 'laid' back with 'textile / silk dome' tweeters.

One budget dome tweeter (home audio) that was not too bright and even easy to XO was the Vifa D25AG35. Google it and you will find many high end speakers used it.

Shallow version of EL. Not in production. Neither is the Euro, which is UniQ based.

Illusion Luccent 6.1 and Electra 6.1
B&T and others who may have listened to both - how would you describe the sound from these sets relative to each other?

Hertz was suggested earlier , but just came across the fact that the blau THc's also use mylar tweeters. How do the Blaupunkt THc's compare with Hertz DSK's ?
