Rectifying the "Android Auto has stopped" error in Maruti's Head-Units

The latest update on my Maruti Vitara in car entertainment system seems to have caused a ton of disconnection issues. I keep getting the error "Android Auto has stopped, there is a problem with the connection, please reconnect your phone". Screen grab below.

Happens with all the family phones so definitely an issue with the system. Currently the only solution is that you turn off the car, wait 10 sec, turn it on and reconnect. However this is impossible to do when on highway. Long pressing the power button just turns off the screen ans does not help.

Are there any other ways to resolve this in a running car? Also is there a fix for this?

Have you tried resetting the infotainment system?

Also, if you connect using a cable, try replacing with a OEM cable.

This is using the wireless Android auto. Haven't yet reset the infotainment system will try and see if that is an option.

Did the factory reset, it does not roll back the firmware update though. I am still getting the disconnection issues. Guess I'm stuck with this till a new update comes out and fixes this.

Seem to have found a hack to reconnect after the android auto has failed message starts popping up. On the quick access panel turn off the WIFI, give it a solid 20-30 sec and turn back on. Now reconnect your paired devices and you should be able to reconnect.

The best way is still to turn off the car, wait 5 sec and then reconnect.

Please advise if there are ways to roll back a firmware update? The latest one is absolutely pathetic with the disconnect issues.
I on 76TA.70.00 and till now no updates or fixes

Odd that the updated firmware is buggy. I just updated my Jimny firmware a few months back and absolutely no issues at all.
There is no way to rollback an update as far as I know. So guess you will have to live with it for now.
You can go to Nexa/Arena and check whether the head unit itself is at fault. They will swap with another unit and check. If indeed it is at fault, as for a replacement (note even if you have an extended warranty, the head unit warranty is only for 2 years anyway).

The head unit was working fine with the last update for the longest time. Thats why I'm fairly sure that its the update. Guess I'm stuck with it for the time

Turning off the car works, but only after few mins, as it goes for a complete restart, otherwise it just come back instantly. But how to avoid stopping, wait for few mins and starting?

Is there anyway I can just reboot the infotainment while the car is running? This is like a windows OS, where restarting fixes all the issues (though temporarily)?

Mine is Toyota Urban Cruiser 2022 high AT (Brezza re-badge).

This is what has worked for me. Use the pull down menu from the top of the screen. Turn off the wifi. Wait for the phone to reconnect automatically or go to paired devices and rexonnect phone (without turning on wifi). Your android auto should reconnect.

Somehow when the system turns on wifi on its own it seems to solve the problem.
