Intel unveils graphic card for cars; Offers enhanced in-vehicle entertainment

According to media reports, Intel has unveiled a GPU (graphics processing unit) or graphics card specifically for cars. Called 'Arc A760A', the GPU allows users to move their gaming experience from home to their cars.

Intel has yet to name any automotive partners, although the company did reveal that the chips will go on sale in 2025. Intel states that the chips are designed to "unlock a new era of AI-powered cockpit experiences."

The Arc A760A will have voice, camera and gesture recognition and will be able to control up to "seven high-definition screens rendering 3D graphics and six in-vehicle cameras and interactive features." Simultaneously, it can also run demanding triple-A games, in-vehicle entertainment and AI-powered productivity apps.

The press release states that the chip will have the ability to "execute complex vehicle control commands through natural language processing, answer vehicle-related questions accurately, and even engage in leisurely chat with users, providing a more interactive and enjoyable journey."

The company is also said to have created more than 500 features and apps for automobiles. The new chip will be compatible and scalable across entry, mid and high-end cars.

Quite frankly, Intel might not be the best chip maker currently to to this task. Many reports have come out about Intel products overheating under even mild stress. Is any other chip manufacturer doing this?
