Been using it for last 6yrs and happy with it. Still sometimes feel the need for more power but doesnt leave the music incomplete.

If bone-shaking loudness is NOT the requirement, you can try the Pioneer TS-WX400DA or Alpine PWE-S800 under-seat powered subwoofers. They are reasonably priced between 17 - 20K. The bass is quite good, enough to vibrate your door panels.
Spare wheel subwoofers are not well priced and cost at least twice the price of under-seat ones. I don't think they offer any added benefit to justify the cost.

unfortunately, it's not feasible to get many brands in one shop to audition before buying, and after hearing JBL underseat, I am kinda scared to buy something eyes closed. I am hoping to audition for Blaupunkt under-seat though. if that sounds the way I am looking for I will take a plunge else I will have to come up with a plan B, which I don't have.

You are right, bone shaking is not my style, I may be able to demo Alpine, later this week. Pricing is not a concern at the moment, saving boot space with good sound is. for years likes of Audi have been putting sub in spare-wheel to somewhat success

Also, I am leaning more toward calibrating EQ with my DSP first. I want to correct the imaging and frequency response. polk are amazing speakers, I want to open up their potential first and RTA is the way to go, I am waiting for my equipment to arrive. I will start a new thread when the hardware arrives.
