Quite cute & innovative. In a way, things have come full circle. 2 decades ago, Pioneer head-units had a detachable face-plate to prevent theft. It wasn't uncommon to walk into a nightclub with the Pioneer face-plate sticking out of your jeans rl:

Great product. One thing that I like about the setup is that it is modular.

Although it may appeal to the masses, but the product I feel is a little late into the market.

Even with the cars with old ICE, all one needs is a cheap smartphone, mobile holder, good quality charger and a good quality Bluetooth-AUX adapter, and one can achieve at least 70-80% functionality of what this product offers. The only misses with this setup would be reverse camera and steering mounted controls.

Even that is easily doable with some tweaks and additional hardware.

Example: JoyCon Steering Wheel Interface Controller
There are some versions with Rear View Camera control too

Hobbyists been running Android tablet based HU setups for more than a decade and there are even forums dedicated to that hobby. I think there are some examples in this very forum itself.

It's just that, now with a product like this, Android HUs will go mainstream beyond the cheap Chinese Android HUs.

Also when it comes to modern cars, more and more functionality (beyond ICE) is integrated into the factory HU making the aftermarket HU scene a dead horse with extremely limited market.
