how is your hard disk doing? your friend is using a DVD drive also i think, is it reading properly while of on our roads?
what installed next to the fan in swift cpu, those 9 silver things visible out?
have you soldered the head unit wiring to its unit or using similar connector? |
the sanding part was done at my friend's garage. the passages were filled by "PATTI" which is used on cars o repair dents. and then sanding.
HDD is doing really perfect. it dint even skipped for once even on real Indian roads. i'd suggest every one to use their HDD's in this way. next to fan in swift cpu are 9 holes. we did this to keep the power supply kool.
yes the wires were soildered out from the HU and soildered in to the front. Quote:

yes 256mb is for VGA card. twe are using 1gig Ram for the CPU. no, there is no particular reason to install the cpu under the driver's seat, actually my frnd already installed his one of the ampunder te passenger's seat thats why it had to go under the driver's seat.
there is one more benifit if we put the cpu under the front seats i.e. it can be easily kooled from the a/c vents if selected on legs mod.
the on/off switch is to swtich on/off the inverter. the Red LED tells us if the system is on or off, and the puch button is for powering on and to reset the cpu if holded for more than 3-4 secs.
the thing under the vent is the sony ericsson's bluetooth car's handfree.
the plastic we used is PLEXIGLASS, it is easily avalible if you go out and look for where you find plastic hardware for industrial use. i used plexi galss in 6 pcs.. two 9x9"and four 9x3" 5mm thick and it costed me around Rs.600/-
tips:- 1st plan how you want to arrange the stuff, before buying the plexi. we screwed two small screws on every side and the were fixed with the elfy later when everything was finished. and for screws you need to drill little holes on the the plexi ( holes shoud not be in bigger diameter than the screws).. you gotta be very careful while drilling as it will crack easily if you do "DHAKKA".. and scrap the sheet.
all together it was pain in a$$ to get all things together in place while working with plexi.
let me know if you need any help while working with your pc setup.
