Thank you, Max, Zak, kvish, Driven!

@ kvish, I got the damping sheets from the same place I got the install done. The cost of the damping sheets is included in the installation charges (last item).

Hmm... I guess this iDQ found its way to a deserving set of ears. You got it right Hydra, this isn't a high excursion sub. And thats part of why it sounds so great. This whole obsession with high excursion subs is just industry trend. I have rarely heard a high excursion sub that sounds great.

To quote from a B.E.P track...

"They don't want music, they don't know how to use it
All they want is (a boom, boom, boom, boom)..."

Thank you, Ishan & esteem_lover!

@ Ishan, I'm definitely about there

@ e_l, yes buddy, give your Esteem some ICE love! I know of one other member (who doesn't hang out in the ICE section) who got an IDQ this month. And with l_b_m getting IDMaxes, April is definitely ID month.

@ gunbir, I can't wait to see how its going to be, with the rest of the system tuned in. I'm taking the car to Zuheimi tomorrow early morning. I'll probably need more tissues before tomorrow evening

Ya! We can meet in the evening at Zuheimi's. It would be great if you could come over! I'll buzz you. A friend of mine (the guy you met on sunday evening) is doing a DSK + DCX speaker install in his NHC VTEC in the evening too. So I'll be right there at Zuheimi's workshop.

Long drive around Kerala? Not tomorrow. But maybe on Sunday

I always felt that Infinity Kappa 12.1 with 15mm x-max and 96dB sensitivity was very quick between the beats. When the bass note hits you feel it, and when it leaves you hear silence.

But when people like you say high excursion, I am not sure how much do you really mean. So if it is couple of inches, I withdraw the comment

Determinus, If you read my post carefully, you will see I used a word "rarely" which may be mistaken for "never" but doesn't really mean that.

There are a few subs out there that can sound good with even an inch of one way linear Xmax. Good, but not great. I reserve "great" for the best experiences.

FYI I am running 2x 10" subs (double spider, paper cone, 8.5mm Xmax, 94dB) in my setup right now that kill almost anything out there in terms of speed, accuracy and tonality.
