Nope is the default sony rom only rooted - not a custom rom.

Nope no carplay - iphone doesn't work, nor does it have logos of car play. Confirmed!

Actually in international markets they already have Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. May be because they have updated HU which is MIB-2 whereas we still have MIB-1 HU.

I don't think they have any plans to upgrade their current HU, as they will be busy with Ameo.

But yes we may see facelifted Vento with LED Head Lights anytime soon. I wish they will launch it here. Because last time I asked them, they said it is for International models which are made in India and then exported(not sure if it's true). Only time will tell.

Hi Reignofchaos, can you confirm if the google maps app is also working when you actually start driving? For me it only worked while the car was at standstill, as soon as I start moving, the screen used to go blank saying app not available.

The reason I ask is, I have the MIB II system in which none of the App connect features are unlocked yet.

When I tried last I was on a rooted lollypop xperia z2. It did not work then.
Now I have upgraded to MarshMallow, but I haven't checked recently. I don't think its working has anything to do with the rooting of device, since the app blocking mechanism is built into the head unit and not phone. Either its a glitch in your head unit, or you're lucky, cause by design it should not run the apps while in motion.

Hi Guys,

From the pictures posted earlier by Gannu, it looks like the only things required to retrofit the RVC to the New Vento TSI (RCD 330G), are:
1. RVC connection plug
2. RVC itself along with connection wires

Any idea how we can source these components ?
Any estimation on the cost ?
Tried Aliexpress, but couldnt find any. All were available with the HU and not separately.

Also tried talking to VW SA, but they said that they need to physically check the part numbers in the Ameo, and they do not have the demo car yet.

I was wondering if this would work for the current system for the requirement of a reverse camera.

I have tried researching a lot on this. From the information i can gather - while we can source and fit the MIB-2 unit - it has component protection built in which can only be removed by a VW dealer. Good luck finding a VW dealer in India who will agree to remove it :(

I am thinking of either fitting the RCD330G or a AndroidAuto/Apple CarPlay unit like Pioneer X8790BT.

I found RCD330G for around 12,000 RUPEES with shipping on aliexpress. But I don't know if it's different than Indian version or similar (just like RCD510 - in india we get BOSCH which is very costly and in china we get DELPHI which is dirt cheap).

So if someone will throw some light on this topic then it will be real helpful for us to decide.

You are right. But it's just a matter of finding the powertrain canbus and connecting can high and low.
