Installing MediaNAV on the Duster 85PS RXL Plus?

I did a stupid thing of buying a MediaNav system that someone had swapped out for a Caska Head Unit on their new Duster RXL 110 Adventure edition. I will be taking delivery of my Duster 85ps RXL Plus next week.
I was told that the MediaNAV system will not work on my variant of the duster.
The USB and the Radio will work, however navigation will not. Also, the steering mounted controls will not work.
I do not have the connectors for this system for me to test it.
Can the experts please confirm if it really will not work with my variant of the duster? Does the system need an external Antenna/Receiver or is it built-in with the system?
If it is possible to get it to work where can I get it installed in Bangalore.
Please help!

The key thing is whether you also got the harness adapters from the person you bought the set from. These are short cables with connectors at both ends. If you haven't, please contact the seller and get them. There is no reason why it will not work in your variant.

The wiring diagram on the HU (a sticker on top) should give you an indication whether the GPS receiver is internal or external. If external, this is another thing you need to get from the seller. It is quite likely the seller doesn't know or has forgotten to take it out when installing Caska. Shouldn't be a big problem.

Any decent installer should be able to wire it. EVO Cambridge Layout or Sachin's Autoshop Koramangala. Don't go to an accessories dealer who deals with everything from jhinchak lights to high power capacitors. Their installer can also do it but there is an equal chance that he doesn't read English or schematics, and goofs up with an apologetic smile!

You could also sweet-talk your dealer into installing it for you. Talk to him frankly. He might have the missing pieces and will charge you for it. And labour.

Thanks DerAlte! I checked with the seller and he does not have the connectors. He mentioned that they might have installed the Caska unit using the same connectors. I checked on the Head Unit and there are no Circuit diagrams on it. There are two round connectors at the back - blue and white. I am wondering if these are for the receiver or antenna.
I will try to get the dealer to install it.

Could you please post a pic of the HU (all sides, if it isn't a problem)? It is a convention to stick the connection diagram on top of the HU - all manufacturers do it.

No, the harness adapters for Caska are completely different. Ask him once again - he might have not noticed that his car came with MediaNav unit manuals too (which will have the connection details; the unit is not made by Renault). Definitely the adapters are still in the car behind the dash, or the last installer kept it for himself (or worse, threw it away).

Re: Installing MediaNAV on the Duster 85PS RXL Plus?

Finally after requesting the guys at the dealer they installed the Media NAV system in my duster and everything works great except for the Navigation system. That too will be fine after we install an antenna. They have ordered the part and will let me know once it arrives. The cost would be around 2k he said.

I must say the system has greatly enhanced the aesthetic value of the interiors.
I tested the bluetooth calling and playing songs through bluetooth and it worked great. The steering controls work fine too.
Will let you guys know how it goes with the navigation system.
