Exposure is default value. Did not change any settings before testing this out. The dirt/dust on the windscreen is not helping in this case. I use a Sandisk Ultra 32 GB Class 10 card with the GT 300.

Waiting to get my hands on my Red Dwarf next week. Will make the GT 300 a permanent fixture and then compare samples and play around with exposure & other settings.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Tried ordering an OBD reader from Ali Express a while ago, but unfortunately it never came. The seller supposedly shipped the item and provided tracking. The tracking said the package was received in India , but even 3 months after that it was never delivered. After various followups with the seller, it was clear that they couldn't do anything and just issued refund after 60 days.
I really want to buy one of these dashcams on the cheap; do you guys think I should try again with aliexpress or some other option. I am living in Mumbai - Andheri West area.

Aliexpress has been pretty reliable for me and there are a few complaints only on the online shopping thread. Order the dashcam and choose a paid shipping option. Usually that will be reliable. Something like HK post or Singapore post. Has always worked for me whenever the additional overhead is less for shipping
. These days unless it's a small value item which is totally not so necessary i have never gone for the free shipping option.

Need your help on compressing file size in GT300. As mentioned in my earlier post 32GB memory card lasts only for 3 hours. Is there a way out to change the settings?

Thanks for the heads up. I have ordered one too just now. It's better to keep it all the time in the car than to remove and install me yi cam constantly. I was looking for a cheap cam from a long time. Thanks again.

This would be the feature, one should look for in dashcam. AFAIK, there is none in the market which can safely record 12 hours of travel in a 32GB card.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

It says 6 days left at the discounted rate so I thought I'd ask a few questions. Anyone has any long term reviews of the GT300? Is the quality of this $6 item really good enough to be mounted in a parked car in the blazing heat, or does it need to be removed while parking? Once you get the dashcam which requires continuous power, then how do you charge your mobile in the car? This is very important for me since my mobile battery is weak and invariably needs a top up while driving since I use online streaming radio from Tune-in over 3G continuously while driving. What are some of the other good dashcams one should consider? Do you guys keep the wires dangling or have you fixed it into the roof/dash? Thanks.

Awesome. Its available for $5.6 on the app! Thanks for sharing. Good enough for now - just enough to say who caused the accident. For the cost of a few paranthas, I can't expect anymore. Now waiting for delivery!
