Format the card using FAT32. Use EaseUS Partition Manager to do so.

@SunnyBoi - Thanks a ton! That worked. Now trying to figure out the loop recording part. it currently shows a maximum of 2 minutes of loop.

The dashcam records videos in 2 minute files. Whenver the disk is full, it will re-write the oldest 2 minute file and so on, this is the loop recording feature.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I find myself in a conundrum on what dashcam to buy. I bought a mini 805 which had excellent video quality but it died on me in a few days, later bought a transcend drivepro 220 but wasn't happy with the size and video quality, so sold it off.

DOD cams combine excellent quality with reliability but are very expensive so i'm looking for a cam which isn't too expensive but offers good quality and reliability. Any suggestions ?

How about SJ4000? Quality is very good and is not too costly either

I think SJ4000 doesn't have GPS and I'd like for a dashcam to have one. I've narrowed it down to:

Good video quality
Reliability
GPS

These three are the main requirements, can do without LDWS,Parking mode etc

I'm inclined towards looking at another Mini series cam since it meets most of the requirements and many have been satisfied with the reliability.

Check out the mini 0805 which has GPS, LDWS, nice resolution video quality and much more. Here is the link for the same,

Also I have been using this and it is holding up really well, you can see some sample videos in my ownership thread

Looking at the Mini 0806,it offers two memory card slots, provision for CPL filter and doesn't heat up as much as 0805. Just need to find the right seller so I don't get faulty device

Have read reliability issues with this unit also. Especially the GPS not working intermittently.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

My DashCam updates on SJCAM SJ4000 WiFi is available at the TBHP post

Also some sample clips uploaded in YouTube below. Please watch in Full HD 1080P mode (in YouTube Video settings), by default the video resolution will be downgraded by YouTube.

Sample DayTime Travel Video

Sample NightTime Travel Video. My Scorpio is having the stock headlight, and fog lamps. Video is shot in extreme night condition on highway without any street lights. Available lighting is only from my vehicle headlight.

SJCAM SJ4000 WiFi Under Water Test. Under water, the camera functions without any issues and only audio level is reduced due to the water tight case.

You can get an understanding on the video quality from SJCAM SJ4000 WiFi from these videos hopefully. I am really happy with the SJCAM and using it in my Scorpio, both front and back (2 cameras).

Thanks,
narayanang76

Yes battery issues too, most Mini series cams suffer from poor reliability so its a gamble.

The only good thing is I've read the recent batches are better reliability wise so considering a Mini since others are poor video wise or very expensive.
