The quote I got from the dealer at Mumbai for Dynamate Xtreme is Rs.12,999/-!!! He did not mention what pack or what sq.ft this for!

Checked Ebay US and this looks like the rate for a 30 sq.ft pack.

Is this the standard rate?

Anyone has any idea about NoiseKill?

36sq.ft? Are you sure?

Did not find that pack on their site. The best match that I got was the 30sq.ft one.

And as for the contact details, it is the same as below. I mailed the email ID mentioned below, to get this detail:

Well dynamat sells 2 types of bulk packages that i know off.

One is something called as the dynamat bulkpak which comes with 9 sheets of dynamat xtreme damping (each sheet is 18" x 32" in size) and it claims to cover about 36sq.ft.

They also sell the dynamat megapak which comes with 9 sheets of dynamat xtreme damping (each sheet is 24" x 48" in size) and it claims to cover about 72sq.ft.

Soo i am assuming that the price you have got is for the megapak (36sq.ft). I could be wrong though!

Cheers

Ok, may be this is the right thread for this question.

Is there a way to damp the roof and other areas to reduce the sound (read : noise) of the heavy rain (with large water droplets) falling on the car ?
The car in question is a Santro. Today evening's heavy downpour in Mumbai I experienced this issue.

Its not just the ICE output that takes a hit because of the noise, even the important sound details from the traffic (honks etc) become difficult to hear.

FYI - For spark, EVO quoted 2500 approx per door (DLS).

Correction: I meant the 36sq.ft bulkpak and not megapak!

Prince, you are right!

The price is for 36sq.ft.

The price quoted is Rs.12,999. But the dealer will give an discount on top of this. I am sure if we get more buyers, we will be able to get a better discount.

Is there anyone else looking to buy this pack? If so, can we team up?

might sound stupid but . Has any one tried to damp their Engine bay cover to reudce sound from say a noisy diesel engine?
Or are these "Damping mats" not heat resistant and would catch fire or melt due to the engine heat.
is there any suitable alternative to this ?

This one is for the body, that is the door, roof, boot, etc. Am not sure if this can be set in the engine bay - heat resistance character not sure.

Quadra - Whats DLS ? How many surfaces of the door will be damped ? (The inside of the outer panel, the outer of the inner panel) How about the plastic door pad itself ?

never knew that you can / need to damp 2 sides on each door. Not sure on that part, will check with satya.

DLS i think is a brand name of damping material. I hope i heard the name right when satya was telling me the same.
