Hi all,
I want to reduce the level of outside sound & engine sound entering my maruti gypsy.
I was planning to use some sort of (relatively) cheap sound deadening/insulation material on the floor, engine firewall, and doors.
Along with this, I am planning on stitching a layer of the same material, under my soft top.

Do you'll think this would help in reducing the sound levels in my vehicle?

Also, does the rubber beeding (beading?) along the doors help to cut the sound in any way at all?

Areas Damped: Front Doors
Damping Material: Yoga Mats, Synthetic Fevicol, 100 grade Emery Paper & Lots of News paper
Amount: 600 Aprx
Verdict: Pretty good VFM solution for damping woes. 3 months and no issues.

Does anyone have any information on Scosche Accumat damping material? it is officially being imported & distributed by Sahil International. I have gone on their website and came across the varirties in Accumat damping material as mentioned below :

1. Accumat
2. Accumat Hyperflex
3. Accumat Damper
4. Accumat Absorber
5. Accumat Barrier

Has anyone used this damping material? How is it compared to Nosie Kill & Dynamat? I believe Accumat is pretty reasonably priced too.

I am sure Sam Kapassi, B&T & other audio gurus can share some light and give their reviews on the same.

@ Epic - I have never seen or used Accumat.

At the price mentioned on the Scosche site, it seems to be costing the same as Dynamat Xtreme -> Car Audio Accessories Accumat HyperFlex Speaker Kit Damping material for interior panels; trunks and doors. 2 pcs., 12 x 12

Xtreme is the Dynamat that is of use, the regular Dynamat is really not worth the money they ask for.

Even I am interested in getting my Lancer sound deadned. Parts/panels in consideration are the the hood lid, area between the engine and cabin, the 4 doors, the trunk lid and floor. Is this enough to significantly bring down the noise levels using something like Dynamat extreme? Any idea on how much material would be required for all of this, how much would it cost (material+labor) and where i can get it done?
