Re: What ICE & @ What Price

The family has just booked a Swift VDI. The dealer is insisting that we buy the ICE setup from them as an after market setup would void the manufacturer and the extended warranty. to top it the option being provided are exorbitantly expensive. Is this legal? I am confused if I should get the ICE setup from them or from outside since I am getting better deals outside. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/images/smilies/Please.gif advice.

Re: What ICE & @ What Price

That is the usual "geedad bhabhki" that the dealers give to have better access to your purse. There is no basis of saying that the warranty would be void if the buyer buys aftermarket ICE, not from the dealer. The language of the Warranty is not so much legalese that you cannot understand it - try reading it. "Extended warranty" is even more specific about what it covers, and it doesn't cover ICE.

The only one that makes sense to buy from the dealer is the MGL JBL system - IF it is available with your dealer. Otherwise, just go to your favorite installer and get what you want at the prices that you should. Just make sure he uses the proper connectors that would avoid cutting-shutting - DON'T cut/splice the original harness of the car.

Re: What ICE & @ What Price

Slight update from my post here

Have now upgraded the rear coaxes to an Alpine SPJ-69C3 instead of the Sonys. Have also added a Mekasonic 12" subwoofer that I had lying around- directly with the rear pre-outs. The midbass is fairly decent now, but it still lacks the punch.

Will need a small amp soon.
