To quote from your previous post:

Except for Auditor Amp in option 3, I see an entirely different setup. Was this solely based on auditioning? What was the driving factor behind the decision?

What's your impression without the damping? How really important is it?

Congrats anyways!!! Enjoy your music.
Well when i was there at EVO, I went there with an open mind, I just wanted to compare Infinity / Boston etc. But just before I auditioned, there was this other guy in his Swift came there to change his Kenwood H.U as it was not compatible with his Iphone. I heard his setup. Focal Polyglass comps in the front. Without the sub it sounded awesome

I asked Satya how can I get the same effect for lesser price. He suggested Auditor (Entry level focal) I heard the setup in my car with focal and Boston. Boston was sounding sweet but Auditor was a little louder and cheaper. So decided on Auditor.

I also bought the Kenwood H.U from the Swift guy who had used it for a week for a lesser price (It had bluetooth hands free and it can stream music)

H.U - 10K
Front Comps - 4.5 K
Rear - 2.5 K
Amp - 8 K
Amp Wiring / Spacers / MDF Box for rears / Labor - 2K

Damping is not very much required for my car, it doesn't rattle, but i had already bought dynamat and just waiting for it to reach India, Even Satya said Damp it and feel the difference!

Here is my setup in my Swift Vxi 2005:

Current Setup:
HU: Pioneer P8000BT (with bluetooth, USB) - ($235).
Front Speakers: Kicker Component 6.5" - $100
Rear Speakers: Pioneer Coaxial 6" (dont remember the model)
Amp: Sony Xplod 500W
Sub: Blaupunkt TS Series 12" in ported enclosure

Type of music I listen to: All types of music and depends upon the mood.

How serious? Very serious.

Recommendations: One word: Sweet!

Next Upgrade:
1. Already purchased and waiting for the Kicker 10ZX400.1 Class D mono amp (400W RMS).
2. A good Sub, probably will go for Kicker.
3. A good 4 channel amp (replacing my Sony Xplod), probably will go for Kicker or Rockford Fosgate... any suggestions guys??

Hip-Hop, Rap, ocassionally a bit of rock.

6. would you recommend it to others???
Yes. However, eventhough all equipment are almost 4 years old I am a little disappointed with the JBL Components and would not recommend them as they fail terribly in terms of clarity. One can get Illusion Electras for the same price which are waaaaay better.

1.CAR
2001 Maruti 800 AC MPFi

2. What "WAS" your existing setup

Some ordinary JVC HU + 12 CD Magazine (steel gey colour) Aproximate Damage 12-13K
Tweeters - TS 20 (ruined the system so gifted them to my brother) Rear- Pioneer Ts 2150 (INR 5000 or so)
2 Sub Woofers -10" Pioneers in a single MDF box (don't remeber the model nos.) rs 8000/- including the box
Amplifiers - 1 Pioneer 4 channel (used for the subs) and one Xplod 2 way (used for powering the speakers) 8-10k
Wiring + Installs - No idea just costed me 3-4K total (quite ashamed now!)
Dampening - Never heard of that in 2002.

3.How Much Did It Cost?
35-40k

4.How serious were you about your system?

To be very honest, I was not serious about my music system then. I was only serious about getting some attention. In fact, I did get loads of it (then), but actually never cared for whats going in my car. Just wanted the system to punch hard. And trust me it actually did. I think it was only because of my brother that the installer managed to make the system work together as a cohesive unit (I guess he new a little about parts working together).

It was stolen in 2005. It was only then that i started valuing sound systems. As a resolution, I promised myself that I will not invest in a system untill I know what I want. The quest is on. For the past 5 years I do not have a music system in my car.

5. which kind of music do you listen to ?? prefer deep bass or how is it..

Generally - bollywood mixes, punjabi n pop.
When ever in/out of love - Michael learns to rock, James Blunt, Celine Dion, Chamkeela, Pink Floyyd.

6. would you recommend it to others???

Honestly, I see so much in the market today that can be bought at this price (40 odd) I think mine were an overkill (albeit i miss it)!

7.Future Upgrade?

Sure, just waiting to get in into a new car first.

Re: What ICE & @ What Price

Hi Friends,
I would like to know if I can get some ICE items from Germany with me so that I can use them for setting up ICE in scorpio. I will be visitin India next month.

I can get Pioneer AVH-3200 BT HU for 335€, comes to 19500 INR. Is it cheaper in India?.
There are similar price MAC CRX version. I do not know if it is better or not.
mac audio: CRX

I can get INFINITY 65.9CS for around 165€ comes 9700 INR.

Can some one suggest if it is better to buy these in India or in Germany.

Plesae do not hesitate give any other suggestion.

You can find the prices roughly in the below link for various ICE items in the below link
Breites Car Entertainment-Sortiment im Conrad Online Shop

I would like to invest around 30-45k INR on the setup. I will be doing the setup in Bangalore mostly. Any suggestion for nice installers are also most welcome.
Thanks,
Shiva
