I tried some decoders with google search and was unable to get the information, except one VIN site which mentioned Germany and Tiguan but no date information.

I have the following questions:

My friend booked a Hyundai Venue and got allocation message recently. However it mentioned 2 allocations. The message says date of allotment by Hyundai in August xx, 2023 and again says date of allotment as September xx 2023. I am not sure of the exact dates and hence used xx. However it is important to note that he booked the car on 1st September. Do all cars get two allocations? If not what is the allocation in August by Hyundai? Or is something else going on here?

After reading here I realised that Hyundai cars have a 19th number. However the last 2 digits are visible where the chassis number is near the driver’s seat. However the dealer sends the 17 digit VIN. So is it not possible to check the month of manufacture at the time of VIN allocation, till PDI is done?

Is there any paid site where the VIN can be checked for a Hyundai car?

Let me answer my own questions. I have found out the following:

First part - A car gets one allocation, unless it is canceled. Then also it is reallocated only once. A careless back office person while copy pasting the allocation forgot to remove the old one. SA had to really scratch his head to solve this one.

Second part - Yes, without the 19 digits it is not possible to determine the month of manufacture. So you have to wait for the PDI. But then a simple sticker on the window will show you the date of manufacture.

Third part - No site can give the month of manufacture without the 19th digit, though it is possible to find the car model along with year of manufacture, which of course is visible on the 17 digit VIN itself.
