I got this over phone so I hope I got it right.

6th character is month, here it is 'A' so it is January, 10th character is year and here it is 'E' which is 2014.

Thanks B747. But I was hoping I'll get a little more info. The websites provide only basic information. Is there any way I can find out the specific model and colour? I just want to make sure the dealer is not bluffing. With Skoda you just can't be too careful.

0 and O are NOT used from what I understand to avoid confusion. Seems I'll have to check back. Could be D as you mentioned.

Wildon my friend, looks like Hyundai has reverted back to it's 17-character VIN numbers, from the 19-character VINs in recent times.

Booked an EON for my wife. Can you get more details from this?

MALA251ALEM274721

10th character is E, so it's a 2014 make. Color is Sleek Silver.

I would appreciate any/all other details you can bring up. The car is currently in transit from it's Chennai plant to my city, and delivery date quoted is 11/03/2014.

Hi Wildon, I found that my sales advisor gives me a 17 char vin number(MALAM51BLDM512081) and says he is not aware of any longer numbers as vin. I would request your help to know the month of manufacture of this vehice. Appreciate your quick revert as a m planning to take delivery of vehicle soon. Thanks in advance

Wildon would you be able to help me to find out from the vin number(MALAM51BLDM512081) provided by SA the month of manufacture of the hyundai car i plan to take delivery soon. Based on your inputs i have asked SA for 19 digit number however he seems not aware of such a long number. He has told he will get back to me. Appreciate your help in the meanwhile. Changed booking to Magna +, same colour. VIN given is

Decoding says January 2014 make. Any other details is much appreciated.
