Great to see all the cyclist BHPians enjoying their own forum section . The 'day trip' thread is going to our homepage today.

Please report (Report Posts : Contribute in Maintaining Team-BHP's post quality) the post with the meet pictures and we'll add that to our homepage. Thank you!

Great stuff guys. Can't wait to see the pics. Bangalore truly is the cycling capital of India.

Perhaps some of the cyclists can plan a similar meet in Mumbai on some Sunday? Would love to join that.

I was thinking the same. But a mega Bombay Poona meet at the base of Bhor at Khopoli.

Those Bombay boys who want to climb are welcome to join us on the return!

As a Mumbai rider, you had me at "the base of Bhor".

Since March 2020, I can literally count in single digits how many times I've ridden. Getting till khopoli also will be challenge enough. I'm pretty sure I'll get a heart attack even if I attempt Peddar Road climb at the moment on a bicycle.

Well you could always throw your foldie bike in your car and drive down there and then pedal around for kicks. The meet up conditions are you should arrive with your bike. Not so much on your bike

Hahaha. Trust me, I’ll most likely be doing a version of that on my Ceepo as well.

Dump the roadie into the GT boot made into flatbed. Park somewhere at Vashi and then ride out and back. (Although that also is a 120 km odd ride I think. Way beyond current pay grade - maybe I should park at Karjat ).

It's a pretty similar ride to the climb for both cities. The Poona boys will get more elevation because of the rolling and the small hillocks and kickers along the way. But not by much.

Only if you commit to be on a cycle by the next meet plans

Here's an option - you could take your cycle in the luggage van of locals till Khopoli and ride back home - that's a 50 - 70 km ride (depending on where you live) and gradual downward elevation as you head back home. Early morning trains heading out of the city are perfect to do this - mostly empty. The route back is lovely through greenery and nice roads (till you reach Panvel).

Assuming BMC goes ahead & allows all people to ride the trains again.

No worries, get some rest. It was nice meeting Ninjatalli, Aneezan, Narayanang76, Goandude and Jaguar. Pics were taken by folks with good camera phones, waiting for the upload . Thanks to Narayanang76 for bringing Banana chips for us!

Re: Team-BHP Cycling Meetup Thread, Bangalore

So the first meet-up happened with most of us turning up. Unfortunately, the wife wasn’t in the mood to do the 50km ride across town so she decided to ditch me midway and did her own ride across BTM and JP nagar.

Nice meeting all of you guys! @Red Liner, you were sorely missed. Should have just come over on the motorcycle instead like Jaguar did (not seen in the pic as he turned up just a few mins after this was taken). Hope the situation is much better now!

Re: Team-BHP Cycling Meetup Thread, Bangalore

It was great meeting fellow Bhpians today. And almost every one turned up too.

We spent almost one hour meet time today, and we now have faces to our TBHP handles. Even though it was late, I could squeeze in a 50kms solo ride after the meet also. But got butchered by headwinds on my way back.

Here is one initial first pic I took.

Cheers
