Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

Not a day trip but went for an outdoor ride after a LONG gap! The South Mumbai city skyline along the sea is so screwed with various construction work that ironically the nicest photo op for the bike is only upon returning home.

Hydration tube with bite valve for water probably.

Lovely hot sexy bike @Axe77

What is the funda behind the rear wheel being deeper section than the front? Crosswinds?

Lol. Was a real pleasure getting my medal from him. A teammate, a friend, and a totally kick-ass ultracyclist with multiple 1000s and a 1200 (PBP ... though he finished outside the time window) under his belt. He never tires of trying to get me back into randonneuring.

Like Ebonho said, its the hydration bottle (with Sippy tube) for water or whatever else electrolytes you wanna keep.

Ya most people don’t go too deep on the front - its a crosswind nightmare. I picked these up recently as a sparingly used set from a pal - this was actually my first ride with these wheels - its a 55/85 setup. I’m back on the saddle after really really long so just got some basic saddle time in to get the legs moving again - will have to rebuild slowly and steadily on endurance and speed both while I lose the 7-8 kgs of weight that I’ve put on during lockdown.

The 55/85s replaced the existing set of 45/45 Tokens but I’ll likely toggle between these two wheel sets. The 85 is not very practical round the year. Not to mention a nightmare nowadays to source spare tubes with 80mm valves.

This morning did Mysore to T Narsipur, a cyclists dream road, wide, butter smooth, very little traffic early morning, and the scenery...

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

Over the weekend did a short ride (28km) to stretch my rusty legs. Route was Dehuroad-Gahunje-Ravet & back. It was a beautiful foggy morning with the mercury dipping to 11 degree Celsius.

Is that the gateway to Aizawl when we come from Silchar. Did you cycle to this place because it is too steep of an ascent to climb on a cycle.

I don't remember the name of the location as I moved out of Aizawl in 1996 and it has been more than 25 years now. Had spent my whole childhood in Aizawl. Have really fond memories of Aizawl. We used to stay near Khatla, it was basically a police complex which was also called as "Shivaji Tillah". Not sure if it has been renamed ?

Yes, it is. Durtlang Leitan(or the Nelly Durtlang Climb Mizoram according to Strava). The gradient is rated at 10.1% with 218 metres of elevation. And a total distance of 2.15 kms. All uphill. I uploaded my first ascent YouTube video on another thread - The Bicycles thread. Do check it out. I have done multiple times after that. But I find it very difficult to improve the timings.

Hi docmoya, could you help us with a link to your climb video again, as well as the Strava link too please? 10.1% is a really nice climb, especially if its 2 km+. We have one called Mariaai here that's similarly steep, but just a shade under 2 km. Nice and punchy (from what I hear ... I have not yet gotten around to doing a ride there for now).

Cheers, Doc

Yup I found it. Thanks bro. Just looking at the video makes my old mountain itch need some scratching.

Returning home from a trip in the hills, first few days you just feel like you are on a different planet.

Cheers, Doc

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

I somehow ended up in the Netherlands this December for work. And when here, the best thing to do is cycle, of-course.
I stay at Eindhoven, and pretty close to the "Hovenring", a one of a kind suspended cycle path roundabout. Wiki link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hovenring

Photo isn't great. My hands were shivering; still adjusting to the cold.
