Thats my intro thread there, I am finding the guys there to be very helpful. Went out on Saturday bike shopping. Decided its not worth buying some thing less than around 15K. So planning to wait for a few months. Get ready both physically and financially and then buy the bike.

Yea, regarding the rear view mirrors, I am also searching for some interesting ones :D

On a particular group activity, I saw some members of Bangalore 'Go-Green' club members wearing a helmet with RVM fixed on the helmet. They were having a nice descent look and sure they serve the purpose as well. Mirror was small (approx size of a regular mobile screen) - if I remember that clearly

In my view the other mirror is also looking nice and not sticking out from the handle bar. Pic attached.

From phamilyman's and your post I think helmet mirror is the way to go. Starting search and reviews now.

Some of my week end co-riders are also planning 200 / 300 KM. They were saying that the terrain seem to be rolling with lots of ups and downs, adding to it strong Head Winds nowadays.

There are also some mandatory items to carry - I hope you are having them already?

Yes, the terrain is gonna be tough. Especially while returning from Sira.

This is for 300KM, but check it till Sira.

And yes, got all my mandatory items. Only the spare tube is pending. will get it in a day or 2.

I doubt if I can finish it before the time. Since I am on my MTB, the climb and headwind is going to play spoil sport.

What average speed do you think you can manage consistently on these rides? What is the lower average?

Tried to fill air using my car's foot pump. It conked off at around 40 psi. Not able to fill in anymore and attempts were causing me to lose air.

So with 40 psi, took the bike to a tire guy and got it filled up to 70 psi.
The tire guy is luckily very close to my house and opens shop by 8:00AM.

At 8:48 AM I left him and started pedalling up Banjara Hills Rd 10. This is an incline that has had me worried. Managed it.

I even took my biggest fear head on. The Deloitte climb. This is at the end of my journey and the climb is a killer. But I DID IT.

Surprised myself when I reached office. Total time elapsed is 25 minutes. My bike usually takes around 20 minutes.
Distance from the puncture guy till office according to Google Maps is 9.5 kms.

I am feeling rather proud of myself.

Since I have a shower in my office gym. I was wondering if its a good idea to do some free weights before the shower. Your comments would be highly appreciated.

Haven't you bought a quality floor pump? The Giyo is well recommended. I'm very happy with it.

Otherwise, the topeak road morphG - ask GR. He has one. It negates the purchase of the Giyo as well!!

Rs 5 to fill air in both the tires.
Rs 700 for a foot pump.

Not very keen on buying it now. Plus am a little scared of my wife right now. The poor lady has to put up with enough motorcycle+car stuff. If I start hording cycle stuff as well. Its not going to be pretty.

Yeah, but it don't happen every now and then here as much as in Bangalore. So when you miss it once, its like a lifetime of wait. Now going to Bangalore with short of vacation seems distant too.

I remember there being a BRM just recently ago from Pune Uni. to Panchgani and there was a lot debate about it.

Why don't you invest in a frame pump, it is absolutely a friend in need. Decathlon has a good stock which is cheap too. Ask the bikeaffair guys. Foot pumps are to be added to your kitty much later
