Full aluminum frame with Shimano gear set and Shimano disk pack and a SRAM shifter

The word Halfords reminds of my days in UK during 2003.Every weekend i used to make a trip to Halfords in Leeds to pick up various accessories for my cars.Sparco racing pedals were the pick of my buying spree.
I did purchase some accessories for my bycycles too.Nice chain of stores !!

Some Bicycle Options for Entry Level cycling should be available in any decent town in India. The ones highlighted are adviced though others also are equally good.

Just bought this:Trek 6000.Out of this world.

I was contemplating the Wahoo and the 4300D and rode both for decent duration. And now i'm blown away. The overall feel of the 6000 is a few notches above the 4300 and the wahoo.

Its got way better shift quality due to the SRAM X.5 drivetrain throughout. Its got amazing Avid Juicy Hydraulic brakes. The shocks are a step up than the SR suntour and the spinner on the 4300.

How much does this bicycle Trek 6000 cost? which make is it sorry iam very basic in cycle thought of learning more about cycles in India.

Here are the details of the cycle.the company is Trek Cycles of USA.Its a very well built reliable cycle.

The cost in india is 45,995.Plus the accessories like side stand, Mud guards etc.

Congrats Navpreet, excellent choice, get hold of a cyclometer, gloves and a helmet very useful when doing long rides.

Note: The cycle is not mine (too expensive for me to even think about it) stupid:

I own a Firefox Target for the past 1 year. I am a regular on Bellary road on Sunday mornings and occasionally to Nandi hills. I am very happy with it so far.

surprising to see how someone can even ride those fat tyres on roads in the urban jungle. While I completely understand unlike the vehicle fuels, human fat (I mean fuel :) ) is completely renewable(thanks to sedentary life that most of us lead); I still think it is inefficient way / bad mileage. Better switch to hybrids or the roadies and get the thrill riding at much higher speeds and longer distances for the same effort.

This is the CX60 model.
Its around 3,500$ thats almost 1,60,000 :Shockked:
Also the person who got this said that he had to pay duties for importing the bike and also an extra amount for getting the tyres. :Frustrati (it is said that importing tyres is not allowed, as it is a flammable product)

I won't be surprised if the overall landing cost came close to Rs. 2 lakhs.

hey guys, i own a three year old hero ranger swing. I love the bike. But its been like a year and a half since i rode it and it has withered into nothing but rust. i want to start riding again. What should i do? Should i go and get it repaired or buy a new bike?
Are the hero octane Ester and the recra good?
I was thinking of getting new tyres and rims for the ranger, and some more mods.

Try a 19 inch frame, if its too tall then go in for 18 inches, always ride it before you buy it. though I dont like Hero cycles, they are ok, expand your budget by a couple and go in for a good all alluminium frame, any decent brand, its completely worth it. Look at it this way, its also an investment for good health. :D

Cycles normally are easy to maintain, just give it an "oil massage" over the key parts, and your good to go for short rides. Normally a good cycle specialist shop would charge about 250-350 for a service. I know of a place in Pune that charges 800 bucks for a simple service but they do use specialized tools.
