Just finished a complete rewiring and electrical work on my MM550.

How it started: Just a visit to a mechanic near 100 Ft. Road Indiranagar, Bangalore to check why the winch was not working triggered it all. A previous well-known garage had meddled with the connection to remove the winch while painting the jeep.

Mr. Kumar and his son Abhijit own and run this electric repair and wiring shop. The former a full-time electrician and the later an employee in an MNC joins his father after returning from work and in the weekends.

The efficiency in which the issue was traced to the remote connection box of the winch and connecting it correctly without a fuss and then displaying the working of the winch prompted me to ask the connection “DO you do complete rewiring”. And the answer was “Yes”. Then after seeing couple of pics on other Thar’s and Jeep on which they had worked convinced me and I decided to rewire the entire jeep.

Apart from Rewiring the following extras were added:

1. KC Hilites 100 W spot beam lights

2. Extra pair of Hella Horns

3. A not very expensive music system with two speakers

4. LED DRL lights on front and back

5. The Kill switch for the Winch was moved from within the engine bay to the front grill.
