Totally agree the folks at the RMV 3M are very friendly the first time the experience was best.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/bangal...galore-11.html

Though on the second round I had to remind them to clean under the chassis and the guy cleaning was not really happy doing it, except for that I am yet a happy customer.

I had met Mr. Amit few weeks back and had got a quote, but after a two week full of dilly dallying, I have finally decided today rather now to go for sun film (windshield CR 70 & windows RE 50) and under chassis protection with 5 year warranty on my new Scorpio.

Just so that indecision do not set in again, I called Amit now and booked my slot for Saturday morning

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

For a new car (less than 3 months) would it be advisable to go in for the
3M Paint sealant program?
The sealant they claim "give sealant protection to your paint surface from oxidation, pollutants and harmful UV rays. Maintain the car shine for a longer time."

Cheers!

They have different process depending upon the age of the car. IIRC, a program for less than 6 months old, less than 3(or 5?) years old.

I am happy with the paint protection. Expensive but worth.

Are you asking whether you should get it done? If that's your question, yes, get it done.

PS: Drop a word that you are a BHPian, those folks know about us and that will ensure a better job.

If there arent enough swirl marks or scratches, They do NOT apply cutting compound, which removes paint. They apply some sealants and packs that protects the orignal paint.

Got the paint sealant done today (<6 months). Time taken around 4 hours and rate of INR 2995/(Polo). Most of the cars seen were white and VW/Skoda's and Fiat!

Cheers!

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

This was due, couldnt put it down, so with due apologies to the 3M team for the delayed feedback..

I had to get the sun films in my XUV. I had spoken to Amit on 10th Dec,saturday as a reference from the Business Head of 3M. I Liked the transparent approach to start with . He said that all slots are full for the day and it may be delayed till late evening, though he can finish the work. I didnt want to rush in , so asked for a slot for Sunday.

I went there at 9.30 am, and the store had just opened , and I was the first customer for the day. I was impressed with the 1st look. The guys were very courteous and took me though the basics of films to help me decide. They also suggested add-ons in the car , which i was not keen at that point. I decided to go for a CS-5 film.

Once the work sheet was signed, amit committed delivery in 1.5 hrs. I decided to stick around to see the work. They have a good lounge too. Cars started flowing in by ten. At one point, there were 8-9 cars and all being attended to.

As committed i was delivered the car in the promised time. No hitches .Amit took me through some new products that were expected to be launched. We had some discussions on the XUV and the performance.

The work they did was superb. Spot on perfection.

I will recommend this place for people who love their cars. Thanks to AMit and team..Keep up the good work.

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

I post this feedback, with due apologies to Mr. Amit & 3M team for the extended delay.

One more apology to all, as I lost all the photos and videos I had taken during the day, except for one that was in my wife's mobile. I just don’t know how I lost those.

Big lesson learnt - don’t delay the post.

Work done:
1. Window film - RE50
2. Windshield film - CR70
3. Under body protection - 5 Years warranty

Quality of work done:
Excellent!

I can vouch for that as the entire day I was there watching them work. I hardly ever had to go tell any of the staff to correct/change/redo anything.

Its been almost 3 months now and I have absolutely no complaints from the three items done.

Products Quality:
Window Film: This works very well filtering the sun. And during the nights its almost transparent from inside so its easy to drive as compared to the RE series (dark ones). From outside even at night, unless one goes very close to the window its hard to see the inside.

However the styling is different as it will have a mirror finish when you see in the day time. I was worried about it, but I like it now.

Under body: I have frankly not seen it after it was done, however that was what gave me confidence apart from the 4x4 to drive through the Danushkoti till the tip in the sea water & sand.

Windshield Film: I certainly can make out that the film exists as there are 3M logo running across also I use a Polariod and I can see rainbow colors when seen at an angle.

Now how beneficial its been from filtering Sun Light and Glare at the night I am unable to quantify yet. Interestingly that was the costliest of the three jobs done.

Overall Service / Experience:
Again Excellent!

1. They started on time
2. Delivered at the time they had promised
3. Billing was hassle free
4. As it was a Saturday and many other customer came in, I did not see them hurrying through to cater to others
5. Staff very friendly

As I stayed the entire day there and I had not had my lunch as they were taking turns and working, Amit actually gave me his car, so that I could go get some stuff to eat as my car was yet drying. That tops all customer experience I have ever had.

It's me with my daughter & Amit...

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

Had been to the 3M showroom in RMV2nd stage last weekend.

Work done:
1. Window film - RE50
2. Windshield film - CR70
3. Power Shine wash (which includes waxing)

It was an amazing experience i must say. Met Amit and he was very helpful in showing me the products that they deal with and also a demo of the same.

Finally ended up with the most common choice of RTO approved sun films.

Got to the showroom and filled in the job card by 12.45 pm. Was promised delivery at 3 and when i got to the showroom at 2.45, i was surprised to see my red rascal (Figo 1.4 ZXI tdci) standing with a cover put on it. Did not manage to get any discounts as Amit said the price is fixed, however, got a discount coupon for my next visit where am planning to get the underbody treatment done.

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

Another visit and another happy experience.

My Scorpio was broken in to and stuff stolen! So had the window glass replaced at the service center then over to 3M for replacing the sun film.

I was provided an estimate of 850/- and while billing the actual cost based on sft was slight more, but was billed only 850/-.

I had to get the car cleaned especially vacuumed to get rid of all the broken glass pieces, though I found couple of glass pieces after a day in very remote corner, I would not hold it against the boys as those would have been really difficult corners to access.

My daughter has been spoiling the carpet, so got the floor mats replaces with the 3M mats. Costed around 5k and I am very pleased with the results and work done. I must appreciate Mahendar for the attention he pays to the work, after the boys had cut & placed mats, Mahendar comes in check each one of them and does further fine tuning in the cuts and I could see the mats started fitting in even better.

I suppose the cost for the products are fixed and controlled by 3M, that's part of any franchise model so that customer see uniform pricing across outlets. So effectively at the outlet its your personal experience and the service you receive makes all the difference.

Thats a very good price

I have left a 1961 VW Beetle there yesterday, given a Hefty 6k estimation only for Paint compounding, The car was painted 16 months ago and this is the first time we are treating the paint.

And most commendable thing is Amit is personally looking after the car and is not in a mood to let the car go from his shop

Waiting for tomorrow.

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

Friends,

I had given my 19 months old Scorpio to 3M Car care -RMV extension on 23rd October, to do paint sealant and interior premium cleaning job.

Found very happy with the fit and finish of the vehicle.

Paint sealant and interior cleaning for a scorpio is costing @ 9000.00rs.

So brought a coupon book for @ 22400.00rs which contains 14 coupons in total.Given 2 for today's job, left out with another 3 exterior and 3 interior cleaning plans with 6 additional washes valid for 1 year.

Can have another 12 visits to the outlet for different services with out paying again.

So a coupon book with 14 leaf lets for 14 services will cost @ 22400.00rs ie 1600.00rs per visit.

Re: 3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

I had got the interiors cleaned for my Santro last weekend and the service is very good. Amit spent some quality time and answered all my queries.

The transparent film for paint/surface protection is now available. Amit said this film is not suitable for white color cars, because of the smoky nature of the Indian traffic, the film surface may react and turn yellowish over time.
